Four Carey Jaycees Led by Howard Snowberger and Richard L. Snook Jr attended the Ohio Jaycees convention in Cincinnati. They backed Devere Line of the Indlay Jaycees who failed to win state president. Phil Bouckaert of Cincinnati succeeded Larry Moses of Lima as state Jaycee president. Jaycee-Ettes won second place at the awards banquet for auxiliaries under 50 members.

Carey Fisherman Severely Injured Loading Boat In Port Clinton
Frank Troiano, 51, of 700 Et Findlay Street, is confined to Freemont Memorial Hospital with severe facial injuries after a boating load accident in Port Clinton at 2 p m Sunday. He was guiding the craft with one hand while winching, the boat slipped, a handle spun and struck him on the nose and near the eye. He underwent immediate surgery, with vision damage possible due to swelling.

Four Bowling Green Students Fined for Cemetery Destruction
Four Bowling Green State University students faced Upper Sandusky Municipal Court on malice destruction charges for overturning and removing monuments in Lutheran Ridge Cemetery near Carey. Each received a 500 fine and 30 days in jail, suspended pending restitution of 2400 dollars. they must clean the cemetery on weekends.
