William Sherman Hollaway 66 of 368 Leader street died Thursday at 11 16 am after intestinal influenza and pleural pneumonia. Survived by widow Mabel six children Foster Noble Elsie Throckmorton Howard Bert Ruth a brother John and five sisters. Funeral Saturday at 3 pm at home with Rev W Martell George, burial Marion cemetery. Attendees from Marion and Upper Sandusky.

Hay laden truck blocks Route 53 in curious collision
Bales of hay tied up traffic along Route 53 for about an hour after a car and truck collision near Kenton. Arie C. Felty driving south with hay was hit by J. B. White who tried to pass the truck. No injuries reported and traffic slowly resumed as hay was cleared. Sheriff Wilbur Mitchell investigated the incident.

A group of Sidney men mushroom hunting west of Quincy found a 10 gallon milk can in Pool woods along River road containing notes, stocks, bonds, insurance policies, deeds and deposits from the Bowersville State Bank theft on March 21. The cash was not recovered. The Xenia sheriff retrieved the cache in Bellefontaine and returned it to Bowersville Bank.

Directors of the Tiffin public school system were asked Wednesday night to assume operation of St. Joseph's and St. Mary's parochial grade schools as a temporary measure starting autumn.
