In wet field conditions on Sunday the Toledo Semi-Pros defeated the Palmera All Stars 8 to 6. Carey and Celina series notes tease next week's rematch with Celina Merchants at the rubber plant diamond.
Roland McDowell and wife return from Chillicothe where a jury upheld a codicil to Ella V. Sheets's 1930 will. The codicil dated April 9 1932 shifts personal property to Mary Sheets and Arthur Sheets, reducing McDowell's inheritance and costing him over 10000 dollars.
Advise novices to submit notices of meetings and suppers before Wednesday. Written notices preferred as late phone copies may cause publication errors. Remind that late submissions risk inaccuracy and blame lies not with the paper.
Alumni of Bowling Green State College rally against the proposed change to a welfare institution fearing credit depreciation if transferred to other colleges. They urge supporters to write to state representatives and senators Grover R. Traxler and John P. Bower, Wyandot county’s representative and Rushsylvania’s senator from the 13th 31st district.
Rev. Paul R. Clouser and H L Wenner from Christ Lutheran church traveled Tuesday to attend the Synod of Ohio sessions at Zion Lutheran church in Wooster. The convention is slated to adjourn Thursday afternoon.

The American Legion calls members to a county meeting at 7 30 P M in Upper Sandusky on Monday May 22. Wes Masters from the Cleveland Veterans Bureau will speak. The Ohio Legion mobilizes May 19 under Spuhler with Emergency Units and affiliated groups urged to report to post HQ promptly after the call.
Anson W. Gear as receiver announces a third dividend of 10 percent will be ready for creditors on Monday May 22 1933 making total 83 1 3 percent paid. Depositors may receive another dividend before closing the business.
The first Carey District Court of Honor will be held at the Lutheran parish house Monday evening May 22 at 7 30. Scouts who completed requirements for advancement to second class and first class will receive badges. Rev. Paul R. Clouser chairs the event, and it precedes the Scout Leaders training session.
Crawford chapter No. 168 O E S will be inspected Friday evening May 19 at 8 PM with Mrs Ruby Dye of Bucyrus as inspecting officer. A dinner at 6 PM at the Methodist church. Tickets 35c from Mrs E B Kurtz Mrs SH Krebs or Miss May Mullholand. Visitors from Tiffin McCutchenville Bucyrus and Upper Sandusky expected.
In the Ohio conference the Evangelical church will exchange pulpits next Sunday. Rev W R Shisler will preach at Trinity Evangelical church in Upper Sandusky Sunday morning and Rev C H Kern of Tiffin will preach at the local church.
Members are urged to attend the WB A meeting Friday evening. A potluck will be served at 7 00 followed by the regular meeting and the initiation of a large class of candidates.

Carey citizens plan Poppy Day on May 27 with American Legion Auxiliary poppies made in the U S by disabled veterans. Mrs Free Segarse says foreign poppies and signs are not used and the program gives employment to veterans, potentially expanding as public response grows.
Miss Celia Reynolds announces a new school of dancing and dramatic art at 655 W Findlay Street. It offers tap ball room ballet toe acrobatic soft shoe musical comedy and clog with elocution and expression and Hampshire System technique. The American Legion Auxiliary holds its regular meeting Monday evening May 22 with social chair Mrs J J Siddall and helpers Mrs C B Myers Miss Florence Schira and Mrs Russell Gottfried. A short program on the 1933 Fidaec Congress in French Morocco is planned by Mrs P C Goff, Fidae chairman.
The C L of C stages a chicken supper on Tuesday May 23 at the Catholic hall. Menu includes chicken noodles potatoes cole slaw pie and coffee. After supper a social evening with dancing and cards follows. Everyone is invited.
Henry Kemerley of south of town raised a new 36 by 16 foot hip roof barn last Friday to replace the structure ruined two months earlier by the cyclone. He thanks all who assisted in the effort.
Mrs. Millie Payne of E Findlay street reports her lilac bush, usually bearing single white flowers, instead produced a cluster of double purple blooms this year.
Margaret Haford and John Yohe of Carey High School's graduating class took the scholarship test Saturday at Heidelberg College in Tiffin.
About 1000 pilgrims visited the Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation on Sunday. A special Cincinnati organized Mother's Day pilgrimage brought Knights of Ohio. Visitors also came from Columbus Cleveland and other areas. Parishes from Upper Sandusky Frenchtown Kirby and Salem joined. A second train from Tiffin Clyde and Sandusky arrives. Candle procession planned this afternoon. Next Sunday marks official closing of the spring novena with a final profession and benediction on the church steps.
Mrs. Byron Ogg Mrs. E S Burson and Mrs A F Byers visited Upper Sandusky to organize a benefit by the Jenny Lind Entertainers for the Queen Esther class of Christ Lutheran Sunday school The date is not yet set.
Frank Eakin died suddenly at about 5 30 this morning at his home four miles southwest of town. The death was caused by heart trouble after a couple days of illness though he had not been bedfast. Police and coroner records indicate no unusual circumstances surrounding the death. Eakin was a well known local resident and his passing comes as a shock to the community. He leaves a widow and several children. Funeral arrangements are pending.
A nine pound daughter was delivered to Mr and Mrs Edgar Hull of Findlay on Thursday of last week. Mrs Hull formerly Ruth Stillberger is a daughter of William Stillberger of the south of town.
The Rebekahs announce a lodge meeting on Tuesday May 28 at 8:00 PM with practicing to follow. Members are advised to attend and participate in the session.
