Pleasant weather and a large crowd supported Carey Conservation Sportsman's Association third annual Derby Day at the club grounds. Awards went to numerous boys, girls, and adults with cash prizes, several tagged fish, and a jackpot fish offering a $15 value before Labor Day 1963 and $10 after.

Carey will celebrate Memorial Day on Wednesday May 30 with a traditional parade. American Legion Earl Green Post 344 directs the event.
