Polio Vaccination Drive for Second Dose Today
Wyandot residents urged to receive the Sabin oral polio vaccine second dose at Carey and Upper Sandusky High Schools from 10 am to 8 pm. State approves Carey US 23 tie in to south of town
The Ohio State Highway Department approves a new tie in between U S Route 23 in Carey and the four lane highway planned south of town. The tie in will follow Vance Street to Clay Street and then along the NYC right of way behind West Street homes, instead of using Route 103 as preferred by officials.

Leroy Eddie Ireland, 26, of 411 Prentiss Avenue Findlay, died after a head on collision on U S 23 south of Carey. Doctor Homer R. Donathan and Edward Tackett were among injured. Ireland’s crash involved a 1961 Harley Davidson and a 1956 Chevrolet.

Workers at the J. F. Dible Co voted unanimously to join the American Building Construction Workers Association an independent union. An NLRB supervised election follows a dispute at Findlay High School construction site as Toledo plumbers and pipe fitters picketed alleging Dible domination. Pickets to be withdrawn after NLRB certification.

Mrs. Marie Stansberry of Pepper Sandusky pleaded guilty in Wyandot County Common Pleas Court to forging and uttering forged instruments from the Soldiers and Sailors Relief fund while serving as Veterans Service Officer. She faced 88 counts involving 44 checks valued at about 5200 dollars and received 1 to 20 year sentences on each count to be served concurrently. The state plans a full funds audit while restitution talks continue.

Four Cars In Chain-Reaction Collision Sunday
The State Highway Patrol investigated a chain-reaction collision 0.9 mile south of Carey on U. S. 23 at 5 40 p m Sunday amid slow traffic due to a preceding fatal accident. Nelson Stover 32 failed to stop and hit Opal Wood Feldmiller 61 whose car rammed Bradford Porter 24 then James Bevens 25 in Wyandotte Michigan. Porter sustained knee and shin lacerations and Jean Porter 23 a possible neck injury. Property damage cited for all four vehicles. Stover charged with failing to stop within the assured clear distance.
