Lexington Defeats Carey 3-2 in sectional final
Lexington High School edged Carey 3 to 2 to win the sectional Class B baseball final at Kenton on Tuesday May 14. Pealoch hurled slow curves for Lexington while Newell limited Carey to six hits and struck out nine to seal the victory. Carey finishes the season with 6 wins and 4 losses and exits with six seniors listed among the players.

Carey carpenter robbed at home in Sunday assault
John Wehrley, 87, a Carey carpenter, was attacked around 10 30 p m Sunday at his N Patterson street home. He was struck and robbed of 717 47 dollars a handkerchief and glasses. Police and county authorities investigated with a wrongful accusation later withdrawn by Wehrley who apologized and vindicated a local youth.

Cyril Baker Honorably Discharged At Camp Atterbury
SGT Cyril Baker of the 721st AAF Base Unit received an honorable discharge from the US Army in the latter part of March at Camp Atterbury. He served 23 months, 17 in the South Pacific, and earned the Asiatic-Pacific and World War II ribbons along with the good conduct medal before returning to his former personnel role at the Carey plant of National Lime and Stone Co.

Charles F. Welly, S 1/c, son of Mr and Mrs Fred Welly of South Manchester street, received an honorable discharge from the U S Navy on April 27 at Great Lakes Illinois. Harold Logsdon Improves After 46-Foot Fall
