Wensinger and Bank Trustees sue Shellhouse in Ohio court

John Wensinger Meric Vance and Carl D Althouse trustees of the People's Bank of Sycamore file a common pleas suit through W R Hare against Smith and Lucious Shellhouse. They seek to collect a 1915 judgment from the National Bank of Commerce Toledo now $453.27 and ask for sale of specified real estate and for Shellhouse to reveal claims in the property.

Mrs Helen Crum Lash of Caledonia died Wednesday night at St Vincent's Hospital Columbus from peritonitis. Born April 30 1895 in this city she taught in Upper Sandusky and Marion schools and married Emlsworth Lash August 27 1918. They had begun housekeeping on a Tire farm two weeks before her death.

Welcome Home Sycamore Boys Return From 166th

A large crowd welcomed nearly a dozen Sycamore soldiers from Company L of the 166th who returned to Carey Saturday evening. Among them was Arthur Byers, former foreman at the Times office. The town plans a regular reception as they readjust to civilian life after heavy fighting and significant replacements in their unit. One Sycamore member was killed in action.

Mrs. Anna Cather and Miss Bess Kaley of Lincoln Neb former city residents, visited the Galt House then Sidney to visit Carey friends and Wilse Carothers. They plan Chicago and Lincoln before Kaley family heads to California for winter. They spent last winter in Washington and Hampden Va near Jay Howard, first lieutenant in the Engineers, now with Eastman Kodak in Rochester NY.

Soldier’s remains to be brought home not soon

The War Department asked Mrs. F. M. Starr of south of town how she wished to dispose of her son George Starr’s remains. She requested they be brought to the United States and laid to rest in a national cemetery. He rests in a German soldier’s grave. The department said the remains will not be moved soon, but family wishes are being recorded.

Elmer Donaldson and Miss Maude Lupton were married in Upper Sandusky last Saturday. Rev. C I Lamale conducted the ceremony at his home. The groom works for the Big Four and the couple will reside in Carey, moving into the Croker house beside the United Brethren parsonage on South Street.

The third trial of Walter C. Bing ham for wife murder proceeds in Tiffin. A jury needed nine days to reach a verdict after examining more than 330 talismen in the courtroom.

The 14th district convention of the Women s Benefit Association of the Maccabees met in Findlay with a business session in the afternoon and 36 candidates receiving first degree in the evening. Miss Maud Starr north of town received a letter from Mrs Frank C Starr announcing the death of her husband in Salt Lake City Utah on March 30 after a brief illness. He was born in Carey in June 1866 and was connected with a large publishing firm at his death. Memorial Day flowers are requested for the G A R hall to decorate soldier graves.

First cement car passes through Upper Sandusky

The first cement carrying car built passed through Upper Sandusky on the Pennsylvania railroad on Saturday. If satisfactory, additional cars will be constructed and used on further runs.
