The forty fourth annual commencement will be held Thursday evening in the high school auditorium. Special music will be furnished by the Senior Sextet and the high school orchestra. B F Stanton of Alliance will deliver the class address.
Sunday evening services at Christ Lutheran Church featured Miss Elsie Howard at the organ and Rev. O D Myers of Memorial Evangelical Church delivering an inspiring sermon titled Making the Most of Self from Philippians 3 12. The choir sang Remember Now Thy Creator.
Skinner's Dress Suit was presented to a full house at the high school auditorium Tuesday evening. This year's Senior play was a clever three act comedy in which the cast of 11 seniors played their parts excellently. Music was furnished between acts by the high school orchestra.
The senior class at Carey High held a last chapel Friday morning dressed in caps and gowns. The program included Hustle and Grin, a scripture read by Elizabeth Richardson, and a summary of the year's good works by Mr. Arnholt. Cloyce Wentling, class president, thanked teachers and students for their cooperation and spirit. Auld Lang Syne Where Oh Where and the High School Song closed the program.
The annual banquet was held May 14 in the high school auditorium with pink and green decorations and a garden theme. Louis Allen acted as toastmaster. speakers included Genevieve Jacoby Cloyce Wentling Mr Arnholt and Helen Gottfried. The event featured a fan dance by Miss Rith Ingles, a vocal solo by Jack Heck and a humorous dialogue by Polly Cold and Alice Roynon. Music was provided by LaMoine and his Moonlite Trouadors.
The 1931 annuals are selling quickly with only a few left. The volume is praised for originality and quality as copies are reserved for readers who have paid a 50 cent down payment.

The Ohio House adopted a resolution mourning the death of Samuel J Black, longtime Wyandot delegate in the Eightieth and Eighty-first General Assemblies. It extols his public spirit and service to county and state and directs copies be sent to his family and several newspapers.
The Pythian Sisters announce a Friday evening performance of Mrs Apple and Her Corps in their new hall. Touring actress Mrs Coran Apple leads a troupe raising funds to pay their church mortgage. Cast includes Mrs Apple and 11 named players with a 10 cent admission. public invited.
April 4 marked the 100th anniversary of Crawford Ritchie cemetery begun with the burial of Daniel Hodges. Hodges wished to be buried under a walnut tree on the hillside. the plot remains about three quarters of a mile east of Crawford, with the walnut tree still standing over his grave.
A special train from Terre Haute Indianapolis Jeffersonville and Louisville will run via the Big Four on Saturday May 23 to the Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation. The train arrives in Carey about 6 am Sunday and departs about 4 pm returning to Indiana and Kentucky points about five hours later.
Miss Evelyn Hosafros appears in a Findlay college conservatory recital in the college chapel next Monday evening. She and Miss Fay Sinclair perform a piano duo Serenade Op. 15 No. 1 by Moszkowski and a solo Valse Chromatique Op. 88 by Godard.
Members invited to Memorial services at Christ Lutherans Church hosted by Rev Paul R Clouser with all Legionnaires Auxiliary and friends. A joint Legion Auxiliary meeting will announce the presentation of drum corps uniforms. Decoration Day parade planned with cemetery march and speaker Rev Paul Vollrath. Public program details to follow next week.
Clayton G Hale and L B Parks of Cleveland Michigan alumni from the classes of 1924 and 1926 urged local members to attend the U of M club banquet in Cleveland at Hotel Cleveland. Dr Alexander Ruthven will speak with many faculty members present. Local alumni W S Huffman Dr A W Balsley and W G Brayton also listed among attendees.
District No. 6 of Hancock Seneca Hardin and Wyandot counties plans a July 4 picnic at Waterworks Park Findlay with Ray E B Ascham district director announcing Kester Gray of the American Farm Bureau Federation as featured speaker The program includes a basket picnic dinner music horseshoe pitching contests a baseball game and other diversions.
Farmers' Community club and wives entertain Farm Ladies Community club of Deunquat and their husbands at the regular meeting next Monday night May 25. Mrs Thad Morehead of McComb will speak. Special music will be enjoyed and a pot luck supper will be served.
Memorial Evangelical Church holds Pentecostal Day with Rev O D Myers speaking on The Spirit of Truth during morning service next Sunday. The girls quartet will sing. The Ohio conference designates the day for all churches in the conference.

Sixty four members of the CL of C took Holy Communion at Our Lady of Consolation church Sunday morning at 7 30. Communion was followed with breakfast at the pilgrim house.
The store records a 9 pound daughter born Tuesday evening to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Pulliam on North Street. A second birth brings an 8 pound daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Dan Mc Laughlin on 8 Vance Street Tuesday evening.

G Jagger of Columbus Grove has purchased Davidson's restaurant and takes possession Monday. Cr W Martin of Columbus Grove serves as night clerk and the cafe will operate nights until midnight.
The American Legion Auxiliary outlines Poppy Day May 23 as a personal tribute to fallen service members. It urges reverence as poppies symbolize the sacrifices of veterans from the United States and allied nations, noting funds support child welfare and rehabilitation.
The Kiwanis club at the Galt hotel welcomed National Lime and Stone plant leaders led by F. R. Patterson. Howard Snyder gave greetings as Patterson spoke for the company. The program featured plant operation reels from Findlay Bucyrus and a comedy skit. attendees included Love Edwards Knoblauch Goble and Reynolds of nearby plants. Next week the club will travel to Marion for a regional Kiwanis meeting.
A 30 ton Mack truck owned by J B Baselore & Co of Fostoria crashed on the Dry Run bridge on E Findlay street yesterday. Driver C A Welly Russell Thom received a bruised leg while the operator escaped with head bruises. The damaged span was repaired by workers building the new bridge and traffic diverted south from the library and northwest from Frank Ogg's corner.
Banns for the marriage of Miss Luella Stombaugh and Mr Cletus Remlinger were announced for the first time at Our Lady of Consolations church on Sunday. The couple reside in this place with both sets of parents named in the notices.
The Women of Mooseheart Legion host a dance and card party at their hall on Tuesday evening May 26. Good eats available with admission of 26 cents.
The Garey Board of Education rehired all public school teachers Friday except Miss Jessie Walters who plans to study for a master’s degree at the University of Michigan. The 1931-32 corps includes W. L. Arnholt as superintendent and numerous grade teachers across the Colonel Crawford and West buildings.
The National Junior Shakespeare Story Telling club, aided by Miss Gertrude Houk, plans a local branch to bring Shakespeare to grade school children through story hours and grade level clubs. The program aims to teach the classics, aid in English, and include a future pageant or program with child actors.
At a Monday meeting in Carey the Red and Guns club rooms a city baseball team was formed Donald Donelson named captain Arch Donelson business manager and Matt Orians financial manager The club will be Don Donelson's Semi Pro Professionals Two players from Fostoria and one from Findlay attended and a try-out will be held All others wishing to join should report to the rubber plant diamond on Tuesdays and Fridays for practice C B Myers was chosen to solicit funds.

Rev Virgil L Yohe wed Miss Anna Heeseman in Lawrenceburg Indiana on Saturday afternoon. The Yohe family including J T Le Yohe and sons John Luther and daughter Miss Gertrude visited from Friday to Monday for the occasion. Rev Yohe is a son of Mr and Mrs J L Yohe of this place.
J A Deidrick aged 75 died Saturday at 1:00 am at his Vanlue home after a three week illness. Born near Berwick March 28 1856 he married Ida Elizabeth Hile in 1879. Survived by six children and 21 grandchildren with multiple inlaws and relatives. Funeral at Vanlue United Brethren Church with Rev F B Esterly and Rev Archer officiating. Interment at St Pauls cemetery with nephew and sons as pallbearers.
Committees stand by as plans wrap up for the 1931 Carey alumni banquet. The event features an elaborate Nile green and blush pink theme with royal blue and white, a miniature Egyptian theatre, and Carey's jazz band LeMoine and his Moonlite Troubadors. Tickets remain available at the last minute.
St Josephs Catholic church of Salem township will stage a three act comedy Rainbow Inn at Our Lady of Consolation hall in this city. Two performances are set for May 24 and May 25 at 8 oclock. Admission Adults 36c, children 10c. Everyone is welcome.
The Beech Grove Ladies Aid met at Mrs OE Brown’s home last Thursday to sew and share a pot luck dinner. Attendees included Mrs Hiram Pierce Miss Gertrude England Mrs Earl Brown and son Fred Mrs Rolland Jacobs Mrs Floyd Herbert and daughter Janisa and Rev and Mrs Strete. The next meeting is set with Mrs EE Clark on Wednesday June 10.
Bali. The junior team hosts Findlay on the Legion diamond at 2:30. A large crowd is urged to support the home squad. Decoration Day features a Tiffin junior team game sponsored by the American Legion.
The first union service of Carey Protestant churches for summer occurs at the Methodist church Sunday night May 31. Rev Paul R. Clouser, pastor of Christ Lutheran church, will preach the sermon.
