Soldiers of all wars and all citizens are invited. assembly at the G. A. R. hall at 9:30 a.m. and march to the church to honor those who fell in the war for the nation.
A Cleveland contractor visited Friday with plans for concreting the Big Four right of way along Spring Run ditch. Bids open on the 80th of the month. The project covers bottom sides and top, with the ditch top level with sidewalk grade to settle the Spring Run issue for all time.
The firemen's convention will be held at Napoleon on Friday June 17. The Carey firemen will travel by the Hocking Valley railroad on a special train leaving here at 6 30 a m. The route passes Toledo via the Wabash line. About one hundred from here will attend. Round trip fare is 2 00 with tickets valid thirty days. Return train leaves Napoleon at nine p m.
Miss Edith Walker selected to play piano in the Carl Hill orchestra during a Toledo rendering of Cinderella at the Collingwood. The event featured the opera performance with the local orchestra.
Samuel Harris died at his home two and a half miles northwest of Sycamore on May 7 after a year with dropsy. Born October 5, 1848, to William and Francis Hart Harris, he married Althea Turner on March 18, 1875. Survived by two daughters, one grandson, three sisters, and one brother. Funeral was held May 9 at his home with interment in Spring Grove cemetery.

Rev J H Williams offered prayers and Rev E L Spaid delivered the scripture and sermon on the text A Man's Life Consisteth not in the Things Which He Possesseth. The speaker argued for a Christian life with a true ideal, warning that wealth power and fame do not define real success and urging firm trust in Jesus Christ amid inspiring services.
