Susan Lamberjack, daughter of Mr and Mrs R J Lamberjack northwest of Carey, is valedictorian for the 1962 Carey High School graduating class with straight A averages through four years. Salutatorian is Alita Terry, daughter of Mr and Mrs Wayne Terry Lakeland Drive. Both graduates are National Honor Society members along with top ten and others including Mary Ellen Keckler Carol Wentling Tacy Wenner Marianne Welker Connie Ritter Carol Powell Richard Bray and Daniel Holden Vincent King, all NHS members.

Carey School Bond Issue Passes in Primary Vote Margin
Wyandot County voters approved the Carey School Bond Issue by 239 votes, with totals 699 for and 469 against including 36 for and 21 against from Big Spring township. The $580000 bond previously failed last fall by 26 votes. Mohawk district also voted to approve its bond issue 1107 to 697.

State Solo and Ensemble Festival Honors Carey Musicians
Ohio State University hosted the State High School Solo and Ensemble Festival in April with Carey students earning multiple ratings. The flute trio of Tacy Wenner Karen Myers and Janet Shull received a rating. The Junior-Senior Girls vocal ensemble earned a II rating. Alita Terry earned a I rating on alto sax. Village council weighs pay raises and park rules
Village council discussed higher salaries for employees but deferred action until cost estimates from Village Manager George Dunn.
