Fire damages old wagon shed near Carey greenhouse
Firefighters were called Wednesday noon to the G. V. Sutphen land in the west end of town where a roof fire damaged an old wagon shed. Sparks from a nearby bonfire are blamed. The shed lies close to the greenhouse and several homes. F. TY. Scheel, greenhouse proprietor, used a garden hose to extinguish the blaze. A barn near the shed burned to the ground less than two weeks earlier.

Four Marion youths arrested after train search
On Saturday night Marion police searched a Hocking Valley freight train bound for Toledo after a Kroger robbery. They found four boys aged 14 to 17, all from Marion, who admitted prior police records. The youths spent the night in jail and were sent home next morning.

Auto collision at High and Frederick streets
At about noon Sunday an automobile driven by Scott Long collided with the rear of an Essex sedan driven by Murray Johnson at the High street and Frederick street intersection. Funeral in Missouri for Nicho las Arend
Arend brothers Arend of north of town attended Nicho las Arend’s funeral in Aurora Missouri last week. Nicho las Arend lived about 40 years in Missouri and was about 70.
