Anson W. Gear, receiver, announces that a fourth 10 per cent dividend will be paid to creditors on Friday May 11 1934. The total already paid reaches 93 13 per cent since closure on Sept 17 1931 with a possible small additional payout. The distribution may set a record for bank liquidations and release about $20 000 to the local buying power.
The Crawford Chapter No. 168 O E S held its annual inspection last Thursday evening with a 6:30 dinner for 110 at the Lutheran parish house. Visitors came from Findlay McCutchenville Upper Sandusky Tiffin Galion Plymouth Green Springs Mt Blanchard Sycamore Napoleon and Columbus. Mrs Bessie Boice of Columbus grand secretary served as inspecting officer in the absence of Mrs Lydia Crawford of Cincinnati who was called to Newark by her father Benedicts death. Mrs Boice was joined by Mrs Olive Williams of Columbus grand Electa. Four candidates were initiated. W J Newhard and G H Ryder of Akron attended.
The C L of C held its regular meeting Monday with Mrs P B Emerine drawing the attendance prize. A social committee for May 21 is led by Mrs Leonard Kra mer with several members listed. A banquet is set for May 29 at the Pilgrim House and committees were named to arrange it.
The American Legion hosts a May 10 party for Auxiliary members and Legion spouses. The evening features eats cards and music with Celia Reynolds and studio orchestra plus several dancing pupils Margery Audrush Maxine Stiner Josean Donelson Betty Montague Phyllis Ulrich Hulda Shue.
Special services mark Mother's Day at the Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation on Sunday May 13. The Young Ladies' Sodality will attend Mass and receive Holy Communion with their mothers, followed by a breakfast in the parish hall.
The Carey Philharmonic Society will meet at 7 30 PM Monday evening at Memorial Evangelical church. All members urged to attend.
Mr and Mrs EB G Snyder of Brown avenue welcomed a daughter Saturday morning at Findlay Home and Hospital. The infant weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces and is reported in good condition.
Township trustees plan evening meetings this week including Saturday sessions. Officials announce schedule changes and request public attendance at the Crawford township meetings in the afternoons and evenings.

Fourteen Carey High School students from four classes competed in a 10:30 Saturday scholarship test at Bowling Green. Entered in the exempted village division, they scored 71 points for seventh place among exempted village teams. three firsts, three seconds, one third, one seventh, and two ninths were achieved by Carey contenders.
On Tuesday May 16 the Carey Beauty Shop will open on the second floor of the Newhard block with Mrs Anna Stiner Walters as owner and Miss Charlotte Montague as chief assistant The shop will offer all classes of beauty parlor work with Montague specializing in finger waving and manicuring
The Carey Times extends its liberal magazine subscription offer with a four magazines choice from 25 national titles. Subscriptions may run two years while the paper offers one year of Carey Times for $2.50 to both old and new subscribers, guaranteeing fulfillment and value. The Times stresses supporting local merchants and home news coverage, with a regular price of $2.00 per year and a 50 cent add on for four magazines.
A Memorial Evangelical Church Mother's Day observance combines the Sunday school and worship services. The program features Call to Worship Devotional readings songs by the school and choir recitations including We Can Only Have One Mother The Mother's Gift The Mothers of Men A Crystal Window and Trust Committed to Mothers. Baptism of infants awards and a benediction conclude the program.
Sunday afternoon the New Washington Red Sox will play indoor ball with the Carey Tigers on the garment factory grounds here.
The Lost Patrol an RKO film stars Victor McLaglen Boris Karloff Wallace Ford Reginald Denny and others in a desert siege tale. A tense siege and brave last stand unfolds as soldiers hold against attacking Arabs with McLaglen as the steadfast sergeant and Karloff as a mad zealot. Matinee and evening shows May 16 at Strand with 10 and 15 cent prices.
The Carey-Tiffin Big Four Booster club held a 6 30 p m dinner at the Catholic hall with 80 attendees. A decorative flowers gift from Carey Flower Shop accompanied entertainment by the Schrofe quartet and Janet Schrofe tap numbers. Local and visiting guests, plus a square dance with callers, filled the event with social activity and committee arrangements listed.
The annual Junior Senior banquet was held Thursday evening with ideal weather and complete planning. Miss Orpha Heath supervised food service by the home economics department as Sophomore girls wore blue and white dresses. The menu featured noodle soup, wafers, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, peas, strawberry salad, ice cream and cake.
Friday's group of senior commercial students toured Tiffin Business University seeking business school admission. Monday morning chapel will be titled Senior Recognition, with invitations now in hand for attendees.
The senior class presents a four act comedy adapted from When Willy Came Home From Yale. Cast includes William Barkeley Robert Heck Elaine Jewett Trella Jewett Mary Ann Simmons and Mrs Kirkland with Betsy Scroggins and Slissy providing humor. Curtain Tuesday evening May 22.
On Friday May 18 the Our Lady of Consolation parish concludes the school year. Graduation exercises for 26 graduates will be held Sunday evening June 3 at the Catholic hall. Charles W. Suber of miles south of town filed his petition with the county elections board as a Democrat candidate for county commissioner. On Wednesday John B. Fox, resident of a village south of town, filed a similar petition seeking the Democratic nomination for county commissioner.
Baccalaureate services for the graduating class of Carey High School will be held Sunday evening May 20 at Christ Lutheran Church. Reverend Cy Ramsberger, pastor, will deliver the address. Methodist churches will also receive addresses.
Carey beats Toledo 8 to 7 in a nine inning affair as Walborn keys late rally with a triple to cap the scoring. Keckler, Walborn, and Gallant form Carey batteries while Taylor Ambroski and Bender pace Toledo hitters. Next Sunday Carey hosts Tiffin Merchants at 2 30 with Ferner returning.
The Wall Green Post No 344 American Legion plans its regular meeting for Tuesday evening May 16. The drum and bugle corps buglers are asked to gather at 7 30 for a half hour practice before the 8 00 meeting. Sixty relief workers answered the mobilization call Monday evening including doctors firemen scouts and an ambulance.
The Ladies Aid of Beech Grove United Brethren Church will meet Thursday April 30 at the home of Mrs. Rolian at Tacobe on W North Street. Responses will be given from Exodus 20:1 47.
The Pickewick club will present The Country Cousins on Thursday evening May 30 in the G.K. of O hall. The show starts at 230 o clock and will be followed by dancing. Admission is ten cents.
