The first seven grades visited Carey theatre last week. Mr Leo Jones and Mr Charlies EHiorn arranged the screening of Walt Disney's picture Saludbs Amilgos for the children. The film entertained and educated them on South American geography. Mr John Welsh presented a second film on conservation about wildlife destruction in Ohio and how to control it.
Bertram Oruche of Nigeria will speak at 8 p m Wednesday May 10 in the Findlay College area Methodist church for the Woman's Society of Christian Service. All women are invited to attend the meeting led by Mrs J A Sohira with officer elections to be held.
Miss Jeanette Elchert daughter of Mr and Mrs Clarence Elchert east of Carey has accepted a clerical and sales position with Findlay Printing Supply Co and began duties Monday morning She will reside with Mr and Mrs Edward Tihiry in Findlay previously employed by Schrecks Super Market
A 6 pound 10 ounce daughter was born Tuesday April 18 at Mercy Hospital in Tiffin to Mr. and Mrs. Gene C. Sorg of route 3 Sycamore. The baby is their first child and bears the name Pamela Louise. The mother is Garnet Salyer, daughter of Mrs. Beulah Salyer of Carey.
Chesapeake and Ohio south bound train No. 36 now arrives Carey at 10 21 a m instead of 11 27 a m the change takes effect last Sunday. The train leaves Toledo at 9 a m and arrives in Columbus at 12 25 p m.
On Sunday evening May 7 the Christian Mothers sponsor a card party at the Catholic hall with lunch and prizes. The winner of the recent quilt contest will be drawn during the event. The public is invited.

Barl Stuck, once a Shang's Auto Service mechanic, accepted a position at Jake Adams garage in Akron and started work Monday. The Stucks bought a veterans housing project home in Akron and plan August or September move. He will live with his parents in the city until then, spending weekends with his wife and son at the Shetlers' northeast of Carey. They previously resided on the Harvey Wonder farm.
American Legion Post 344 held a Monday meeting with good attendance. Committees appointed include nominating and softball. New uniforms ordered for the firing squad expected before Memorial Day. A county meeting and feed in Upper Sandusky next Monday evening invites all post members. State Commander Bruce Henderson will speak. Commander K Peterson.

Advanced students of Sister Mary Imelda present a piano recital in the Pilgrim House lobby on Sunday May 7 at 7 30 p m. The public is invited to attend and hear performances including Mozart Chopin Clementi pieces and student selections with certificates awarded by Rev. Ambrose Finnegan.
The Holy Year regional convention of the Third Order of St. Francis was held at the Shrine for Our Lady of Consolation on Sunday April 23 with more than 150 in attendance. Mass at 10 a.m. featured Rev Bonaventure Crowley as celebrant and Rev Ronald Pregliasco as deacon. The sermon was given by Rev Richard Arlt OFMConv with music by Our Lady of Carey Seminary. Conferences addressed Universal Return to Christ Loyalty and The Light of Christ to the World. Solemn Benediction occurred at 4:30 p.m. with meals served by the Sisters of St. Francis and a banquet in the Catholic hall in the evening hosted by Fr Richard.
Mr and Mrs Soorsey Lehman and daughters Cindy Suse Donna Jo and Darla moved Saturday from the Thame apartment above Shuie's garage 200 Vance street to the Harvey Wonder farm northeast of Carey. The family relocated to Carey a year ago from Tiffin. Mr Lehman works as a lineman for the village of Carey.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fisher bought the duplex at 3213 5 Patterson street from Mr. and Mrs Dale Frazier. They keep their home at 124 iS Patterson street while the duplex is occupied by Mr. and Mrs Edward Franz and Mr. and Mrs Edwin Steinbaugh.

Junior MLaudensla ser, 4, expected to be well Monday after scarlet fever illness. The MLaudensla ser home at 50936 West street had quarantine lifted last Wednesday and again last Thursday when sister Clair Marie, 3, fell ill. In a separate case, the Holden home at 244 Clay street saw a scarlet fever quarantine lifted for Danny, 6, who is recovering from scarletina.

Rachel Myers daughter of Mr and Mrs Harry Myers of N Muncie street was among the group led by Rev Raymond Cosdyke OFMConv director of the Third Order of St Francis.
The Vanlue school music department will host a spring concert at 8:00 pm in the school auditorium on Friday May 5. Admission is 50 cents for students and 25 cents for adults, with proceeds to defray the year’s music expenses.
