Post Office Schedules and Route Changes Implemented

Beginning May 1 the post office hours shift with stamp window 8 am to 6 pm weekdays and 8 am to noon Saturdays. Money order window 9 am to 5 pm weekdays and 8 am to noon Saturdays. Carey Philharmonic Spring Concert at New Carey Theatre

Carey plant official transfers to Indianapolis facility

W. W. Clark, assistant major of the Carey plant of the Milh Agricultural Chemical Co., is transferred to the Indianapolis plant for production work. Mr and Mrs Clark and their son Randolph rent a penthouse apartment at 4008 N Adams Street apartment 871 and plan to move today from 330% W Hindlay Street in the Ziebarth duplex.

Crawford Church Completes Remodeling at Crawford Methodist

The Baker Lumber Co has finished a 20 by 26 foot rear addition at Crawford Methodist Church to house a new oil furnace and Sunday school room. New ceiling and concrete sidewalk added. Interior redecorating began Monday with about 4500 dollars in improvements. No debt due to generous contributions from past and present members. Dedication planned for late spring or summer.

Tile plant built on Howard Beck farm near Carey

Howard Beck completed a concrete block building on his farm six miles southwest of Carey to house an oil manufacturing cement tile operation. The plant features a full machinery line to produce four to 12 inch tiles with a capacity of 4000 a day, with Dwight Rickle and Harold Walter assisting in operations.
