John Yohe, secretary treasurer, notes Tuesday as the last day for the class of 733. The group recalls four years with mixed feelings, thanks taxpayers for support, and outlines May 10 class meeting May 14 baccalaureate and May 16 commencement. Annuals largely sold. students recount final tests and sociology papers as school ends.
A girls sextet featuring Isa belle Rainsberger Gladys Buckingham Margaret Haford Ruth Riester Betty Allen and Helen Beebe will perform two numbers on the commencement program under the direction of Miss Millicent Warren.
The Senior F F A boys met Tuesday to finalize Washington D C trip details. Those selected are Mike Vaughn Delmar Lortz Arthur Brown Dean Powell and instructor T D Romig. Football and basketball letters were awarded to several players including Monroe Crist captain Forest Myers and Ralph Smiley. Girls basketball letters went to Reva Morehart captain Margaret Needs Kittie Baker Bernice Stoody Mary Hudson and Margie Audritsh.
Harry Dible attended the last session of the French class on Wednesday afternoon and commented that the topic was all Greek to him.
Clean-Up Week begins Tuesday May 9 with rubbish collected on all Carey streets. Excludes ashes brush and wire fence. Residents told to place waste in sturdy containers in front of dwellings. By order of council Jacob Nitrauer Clerk.
Charles Merkcle reports his 15 year old son Charles Jr. left home on Wednesday evening. Police search noted some clothing missing, indicating the boy may have left the residence.
The C K of O announces a social and dance at their hall on Tuesday evening May 9 with music by Brown's Orchestra. Tickets priced 15-16.

Rev. McCabe aged 74 dies after three years of failing health. Services held at Christ Lutheran and Williams Street Methodist Episcopal Church with multiple pastors and choir. Burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Delaware, with Beta Phi Pi fraternity pallbearers. Survived by wife Effie Capps and four daughters and 13 grandchildren.
Rex Donelson entered East Side Hospital in Toledo yesterday afternoon and will undergo an operation on his left ear performed by Dr. Galbridge. Rex’s mother Mrs. Wm. Donelson and his brother Denyer will be at the hospital during the procedure.
Rev. W. R. Shisler of Memorial Evangelical church will preach at the county home Sunday afternoon at 2 30 o'clock.
On Wednesday W. H. Wright of south of town purchased from R. D. Perkins the latter's residence on E. Findlay Street.
The Rebekahs plan a gathering Tuesday evening at 8:00 and will hold a practice session for atterlodge activities.
Mayor Krebs to throw first ball as the Semi-Pros open their season next Sunday. Donelson oversees tryouts while the club aims for top class opponents. A grand stand is planned as the park is reconditioned. In an exhibtion, the Semi-Pros defeated the Wyandot Indians 10 to 1 with Keckler starting and Greer, Walborn finishing.
Clark Gifford, a Chevrolet salesman from Fort Wayne, has been missing since April 21. His uncle B M Bachar of Findlay Street reports no trace despite searches. Neighbors fear foul play after a car delivery near the river and cash payment found with the new owner. Gifford has three daughters. he is the brother of the late Mrs Jonathan Bachar. Mrs James Ogg and Mrs George Laird are nieces.
The regular C L of C meeting convened in their hall Monday evening. Miss Millicent Pahl won the attendance prize. Members will attend Holy communion on Sunday May 7 at 7 30 mass. A breakfast follows at the Pilgrim House. Social meeting is set for May 15. Committee includes Miss Helen Courtad chairwoman and several listed members.
H E Orwick Ford agent has rented the Johnson building on S Vance Street in Arlington, formerly Zenders Implement Co, and will open a branch Ford agency. Carey had not operated a Ford dealership for several years.
Mrs Dan Powell of west of town is a patient at Richards Sanatorium in Findlay where she is receiving treatment.
A Theran church announces morning intervacation sessions from 9:00 to 11:00 with visitors welcome. The Junior Choir led by Millicent Warren will perform at worship, with offerings and songs including Near by Taubert and God in Heaven Hear Our Singing. A playlet titled a Titan is planned for Sunday school, Light Brigade, and Luther League pageant Japan Yesterday and Today. The Synod of Ohio United Lutheran Church in America meets May 15 in Wooster. each congregation to enroll one pastor and one lay delegate.
Mrs. Mary L. Ewing aged 84 died Wednesday at 2 40 pm at her home 7144 miles southwest of Carey Burial at Lee church cemetery with services at 2 pm Sunday from Goff funeral home Rev Fred Esterly to officiate She was born December 4 1848 in Wyandot county daughter of Aaron and Sarah Alspach Her marriage to William Ewing produced son Loran She leaves a stepson Melvin Ewing two brothers Jacob H Alspach Douglas Alspach a sister Mrs Charles Dame and several neighbors. Her obituary notes her community church and local Moose Women gatherings with district events planned for June.
The local Methodist Sunday school hosts Robert G. Barnett of Ohio State University for an evening program May 12 at 8 in the assembly room. Admission is free with a silver offering, promising an entertaining show with humor pathos and a strong lesson for attendees.
Mrs Anna Sutter of Carey and Ray C Myers of Tiffin announce a modern funeral establishment at 408 W Findlay St Carey. The Carey location will be a branch of the Tiffin business run as Sutter and Myers with ties to the late C F Sutter and Mr Myers prior undertakings.
A newspaper recounts a call demanding an ad fill in a two column space for a six inch wide display. The staff admits the request was impractical and compares it to a magician’s trick. They regret not running the ad and note the caller seemed like a practical joker.
More than 40 depositors file protests in Allen county probate court claiming excessive liquidation expenses for Farmers' and Merchants' Bank at Beaver Dam after state seizure on May 6 1930.
B. R. Miller district office manager A. J. Storandt district superintendent and G. K. Schooler district manager of the Ohio Fuel Gas Co. at Findlay visited the local office on Monday.
Elza Jacobs, a local furniture maker, completed new pieces including a bedroom suite crafted from black walnut and trimmed with butternut or white walnut. The work showcases fine joinery and natural wood tones.
The Ohio Railways Employes and Citizens League will meet Friday evening May 5 at 8:00 in the assembly room of the courthouse in Upper Sandusky. Representative G. R. Traxster will give a talk and a Carey quartet will sing. The public is invited.
Richard Chesebrough son of Mr and Mrs Harry Chesebrough of Findlay will graduate with the Findlay Senior High class tomorrow night. He is grandson of Mrs S B Chesebrough of West Findlay Street.

The annual band festival Saturday in Upper Sandusky, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, drew several thousand for parade and concert events. Carey band led the parade with drum majors Dortha Jean Wenner and Genevieve Dow, while the massed concert of 350 instruments at the public square featured Prof. Eugene J. Weigle as guest conductor and instructor.
The Kiwanis club met Monday with 14 members present. no speaker, time used for general discussion and business items. A fourth division meeting is planned for Tuesday evening, June 6, in Gabion, with local attendance expected at 100 percent. Next Monday’s regular meeting includes R. B. Hamlet and P. B. Emerine as reception committee.

A 9 pound daughter Patricia Fay was born Wednesday to Mr and Mrs W G Riley of West North Street. A 56 pound son Richard Carlton arrived Friday to Mr and Mrs Virgil Gibson of Toledo, son of Mr and Mrs Orson Gibson. A son was born Tuesday morning in Mercy hospital Tiffin to Mr and Mrs Leo Gase of Berwick.
A yellow Buff Orpington from Mrs. F. E. Wilson at the Hurd farm in Crawford laid a peanut shaped egg only 2% inches long. The piece notes two tiny yolks possibly inside the unusual egg in the window display.
The Women's Board Association holds a meeting Friday at 7 30 pm followed by a card party and dance. Ten cents admission covers lunch, dancing, and cards. The public is invited.
The local lime plant shipped 48 carloads of glass lime during April as it enjoys one of its busiest periods.
