In Wyandot common pleas court Anna May Sutter v Ralph D Perkins executor of Charles F Sutter estate reached a settlement to set aside the will. After 12 jurors agreed the will is valid the verdict sustained the document as last will and testament. Forty nine witnesses had been subpoenaed with 12 for the plaintiff and 37 for the defendant. Carey area residents attended the proceedings.

New Electric Rates Take Effect May First
A new electricity rate schedule will start May 1 replacing tariffs D-4 G-1 B-1 with A-1 and B-3. The new structure charges 5 cents per kWh for the first 100, 4 cents for the next 100, 3.75 cents for the next 300, 3.5 cents for the next 200, 3 cents for the next 300, and 2.25 cents for consumption over 1,000 kWh.

William Bloom, Carey Native, Dies at 74 After Illness
William Bloom of Carey died Sunday at 1 40 p m after five weeks illness. Funeral services were held at Memorial Evangelical church with Rev O D Myers officiating. Interment was in Spring Grove cemetery. Survived by wife Ida Nye and eight grandchildren. three sons Russell Roy Eugene and two daughters Nellie and Elsie. Burial attendance included relatives from Marion Bloomdale Adrian Dunkirk and North Baltimore.

Father and Son Serve Same Church for 60 Years
A letter from an uncle reveals Rev. W R Shisler of Memorial Evangelical church learned his father Rev. W A Shisler began as a minister 60 years ago at Sey church. The son followed, taking the Carey work last fall on the 60th anniversary of his father’s arrival. He traveled through Ashland to Carey on Beltgeback road burying possessions in a satchel. Roads were muddy and the carriage horse, aged 25 or 26, was kept at his grandmother’s home on visits in boyhood.

Chesebrough Rites Follow Long Illness in Carey
A. Chesebrough died at 7 15 Sunday morning at his home on West Findlay street after a year of ill health and a short bedfast spell. Funeral services were held at the Tecal Methodist church Tuesday at 2 PM with ministers Rainsberger and Clouser officiating. Interment was in Spring Grove cemetery. Pallbearers included George Shuman William Pontius Co H Baker W L Lindsay Jacob Fruth and Allan Baker. He was born Sept 13 1849 and aged 83 years 7 months 10 days. Surviving are wife Avis Tayor Chesebrough a son David Chesebrough and two deceased daughters Jennie Steen and Mary Baker. He was the last survivor of five brothers and six sisters and leaves seven grandchildren. A lifelong Methodist, he lived on a farm near town before moving to Carey thirty years ago. Out-of-town attendees listed numerous relatives from Michigan Columbus Ohio Sylvania and other nearby towns.

Mr and Mrs Harold Lee of St Paul welcomed an eight pound son named Norman Richard born Wednesday afternoon last week. Hazel Bame, formerly Miss Hazel Bame, is the mother of the baby.
