Chamber of Commerce Banquet Draws 33 Attendees

The Cham ber of Commerce banquet at the Galt House drew 33 attendees amid church services that week. Dr. Guyer of Findlay College spoke on faith, recreation, information and inspiration and urged optimism, advertising the town, and unity in the chamber.

Chamber of Commerce Forms Plans for Future Banquets

President Beitler urged broad interest while stressing democratic processes. Dues rose last year to cover a larger budget and a paid secretary was hired. C. I. Kessler led a motion for regular banquets, winning unanimous support, with W. R. Kurtz named chairman to coordinate with the secretary for the next event.

Death of L M Gear in Upper Sandusky

Lawrence Mitchell Gear known as Mitch Gear died at his Upper Sandusky home after a brief illness. He was born in this city, lived in Logan for years, later moved back before five years in Upper Sandusky. He married Anna Lehman in 1901 and is survived by his wife, siblings in Ohio Indiana and Chicago. Private funeral services were held, with burial at Spring Grove cemetery.

Easter Services at Lutheran Church Attract Worship

Easter services at the Lutheran church are designed to be attractive and helpful. The Sunday school promises to break records and the morning worship is expected to be among the happiest in recent years. The day concludes with Easter music and an illustrated program titled The Other Wise Man for all unaffiliated Christians.

Death of George Winthrop Starr at Carey Ohio

George Winthrop Starr died at his home, age 77, after a nearly two year illness from heart trouble. Born in Massachusetts, he served in the 128th Ohio Infantry, married twice, and is survived by a daughter Maud and wife Sarah Ballard. Funeral services were held at his home and interment followed in Spring Grove cemetery with G A R pallbearers and taps.

Thankful note to neighbors and helpers after loss

The family expresses sincere thanks to neighbors friends and relatives for acts of kindness during illness and death of their husband and father. Grateful for flower donors transport ministers consoling words and musicians at the funeral.

Several Dozen Join Methodist Church in Special Service

Thirty five new members were received last Sunday at the Methodist church. Four generations united in baptism and reception. An Easter Sunday class is planned with Holy Week services each night except Saturday. An early Sunday morning praise service will be held at six under Epworth League guidance. The Sunday School expects 350 in attendance and the pastor will deliver the Easter sermon at 10 15 with special music both services.

Last Sunday's morning services at Crawford Methodist Church were postponed to the evening due to an auto breakdown preventing the minister from arriving. Rev F H Karns preached with the text Today if ye will hear His voice and Miss Whaley sang Roger’s Today If Ye Will Hear His Voice.
