Avonell Robison reports the finals to inter class tournaments will be played Tuesday evening. After the two games the Careys faculty will meet the Upper Sandusky faculty in a return game. The issue highlights the spirit of the big struggle and the efforts of the dig culture team.
Louis Allen led a Monday chapel program after noon prayer with a singing opening. Josephine Jacob and Mr Mitchell from the county YMCA led devotionals, joined by Mr John Warner, Ohio native now long resident in Brazil and Mexico, visiting the U S for World Brotherhood. Announcement by Mr Huffman. The service closed with Love's Old Sweet Song.
The junior class served a simple meal including Jello escalloped potatoes hamburgers baked beans and milk. The event highlighted student activities and cafeteria offerings for the day.
Preliminaries for the county musical and literary contest will be held in McCutchenville in the first or second week of April with Carey, McCutchenville and Sycamore in a triangle. A mixed octette including Martha Stoody and Ruby Rothgeb will sing Sundown, and Jack Heck will perform a cornet solo. Evelyn Hosafros will play Berceuse, and Ruby Rothgeb with Helen Beebe will sing Lassie O Mine. The Soul of a Violin will be read by Tommy Stombaugh. Mentions of coaching by Miss Warren and Miss Rudolph, illness of Mrs George Newhidird, and a trip by Schuchardt and Robert McDaniel to Frndlay are included. Two silver basketball trophies will be awarded next Tuesday.
An art exhibit runs from Wednesday March 26 to Saturday March 26 in the high school auditorium with two sessions daily. About 300 pictures reproduce famous paintings in color and brown tones and black and white, covering many schools of painting. Tickets are 15 cents for adults and 6 cents for children under high school age. elementary pupils will sell tickets. The public is invited.
The Theta Phi Delta club sponsors a high school short story contest open to all members with two prizes. The first prize is 200 dollars and the second 2 dollars, with the right to reject all manuscripts submitted.

Since purchasing B W Tolefson’s store, Coleman Bros. issued ads every issue, nearly doubling business through steady, consistent promotion. The paper states business now speaks loudly to every potential customer.
The Elson Art Publication Co and local schools host an art exhibition of two hundred carbon photographs engravings and color prints March 26 to 30 in the Belmont Mass school auditorium. Proceeds minus expenses fund wall decoration pictures for schools. The exhibit aims to educate inspire and broaden appreciation of world masterworks for all ages with small admission.
Mrs George Mathern reports the death of her brother Carl J Schneider on January 20 1930 on a Philippine Island. He worked for Tampa Inter Ocean Steam Co on a freighter and died of malarial fever at 42. Survived by two sisters and three brothers including Mrs Mathern and George Schneider. Body to be shipped home for burial with funeral at St Michael's church Findlay.

The event, run by the county council of residents education, was profitable and enjoyable. Helen Gottfried of this place was elected president for the ensuing year. An invitation was extended to repeat the conference at Curey next year.

Wyandot Indian Caverns opens for the season with extensive improvements including a Japanese Garden and a new Fat Tile Dome. A lowered floor and a 20 foot high dome enhance the tour, while a new port leads toward the domed pavilion. The cave tour now runs about 1200 feet underground.

The American Legion Auxiliary will meet Monday evening March 24. The officer committee includes TeLbaughlin Mrs Thome Mrs W H Snyder and Mrs J D Siddall.
Mr Fred Magsie of Lindsey will speak in the interest of the Pentecost program. He is an outstanding layman of the Ohio conference. The evening service will be in charge of the BF' lL EO. A report of the young people's conference at top per Sanducky will be given by the delegates. Everyone will want to present and hear this report.
Mr and Mrs Harry Bowman attended the Monroe funeral of Maurtee Tullev nephew of Mr Bow man. Tullev died from pneumonia at age 25 leaving a wife and one child.
The annual inspection of the Pythian Sisters will be held Thursday evening. Clara Platner, district deputy grand chief of Tiffin, will serve as inspector. Guests are expected from several nearby towns.
Dr Harry Hosafros attends the Ohio State University veterinary conference in Columbus from Wednesday to Friday. Mrs Hosafros will join Friday and return with him.
Mrs G W Bish of W Book sells forty two signed recipes and many unsigned copies from a new collection of dishes. The book promotion appears on Vere Bish and other names. Thursday night Lenten meetings attract orders and a young mission group notes strong attendance. Choir and special music planned for Easter week.
Mrs. Alexander Webb of Ohio Northern University lectured at the PT.A meeting on March 1, tracing art from primitive Reindeer Art through Grecian and Roman influences to the Renaissance. She highlighted Michelangelo Leonardo da Vinci and Raphael, with Rembrandt as a concluding example, and musical numbers accompanied the program.
Mrs Fliner Layton dies after long illness in Wharton County. Survived by husband and one son Ora along with other relatives. Funeral services held at Whorten Wookehurch with interment in Mirth cemetery.
Mrs W H Walford of Persyberg is reported very ill and in care at 149 East 7th Street. The news came to Miss Mattie Myers via Mrs Wolford III who notes Walford’s prominence as a former Rosce Co. representative.
Flosen Teng has accepted the position of manager of the Vanlue farmers elevator and will assume duties April 1. Danie continues in charge of the store.
About 70 Pythian Sisters and Knights of Pythias attended a Chautauqua in Wharton. The event, named Brightville Chautauqua, was reported a success in every respect.
Scott WickKinnon of Wo Sayth showcases grafting results from two years of experiments. In May he grafted 14 Bartlett pears onto a sugar pear root, and a single grafted branch has grown 42 inches since then.
Crawford Chapter No 168 Q.K.S. will meet Friday evening at 7 30 with initiatory work followed by a social. A good attendance is desired.
May 1930 is filled with rites at the Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation Carey Ohio. Rt Rev Samuel A Stritch will consecrate three altars on May 4 and the Miraculous Image will move to the permanent altar May 11. The 9 day pilgrimage runs May 17 to May 25.
A group led by C Presler forms to organize support for the Lutheran Cemetery on the Ridge. They aim to raise 2000 dollars with 400 for repairs and the rest for an endowment to fund future upkeep, seeking broad notices to families with relatives buried there.
