Brightville Chautauqua Series Delights Local Audience
The Brightville Indoor Chautauqua week culminated in a Friday program by the Pythian Sisters and Knights of Pythias. Throughout the week, Elza Jacobs and a large ensemble performed Living Pictures and concert pieces with a rotating cast of singers, dancers, and musicians led by Mrs. Ruby Ginger and Mrs. Cecil Laird. Blast Shocks Town From Quarry Blast
Last Friday afternoon a powerful blast rattled buildings and shattered windows across town. No one was hurt as the quarry explosion occurred near the surface after a dynamite charge failed to explode previously and another charge nearby detonated quietly.

Mr Alvin Wisebaker of Tiffin died suddenly at 52 of apoplexy while visiting friends. He is survived by his wife Rosa Thornton and daughter Marguerite. a son died earlier. Funeral services were held at Trinity Reformed Church in Tiffin and burial followed in Spring Grove cemetery with Rev J O Reagle and Rev A C Shuman officiating.
