Life of Jacob J. Frederick Pioneer Citizen and Civil War Veteran
Jacob J. Frederick born June 24 1830 in Ross County died March 9 1909 at Adrian Ohio was son of William and Elizabeth Frederick. He lived in McCutchenville and Adrian working a cleared farm, joined the Methodist church, and served as a loyal lay member. He enlisted in the 164th O V I for 100 days and later in the 65th O V I seeing battles at Spring Hill Franklin and Nashville. He married Mary Drumm in 1852, had three children, and after her death married Margaret Redman in 1878 with more children. He was survived by his second wife four children and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Adrian Church with Rev George A Whitehead officiating. interment in McCutchenville Lutheran Cemetery. A large out-of-town attendance from multiple towns attended the services.
