Chapel program features engraving talk for yearbook work

A Ft Wayne Engraving Co representative spoke at Tuesday chapel on the history of engraving, noting the firm is handling the 1931 yearbook engraving. The Dramatic Club met Friday to present the one act Neighbors by Zona Gale with Doris Ruehle and others in the cast. Mary Finley visited Paulding, and H L Andrews from Columbus spoke Friday on sand and land properties for vocational agriculture.

Pupils excel in spelling dictation across multiple rooms

The Colonel Crawford building reports top spelling results last week with students in rooms 4, 18, 16, 14, 20 and 22, plus advanced arithmetic in room 18, achieving full words correctly. Genton Service At The Lutheran Church Choir Formation

More than 30 young people formed the choir for the Lenten service last Thursday evening. Mil dred Gunther sang a solo and Oleafa Peterson and Melva Weininger sang a duet, Jesus Knows. A large congregation attended the service. This week the Junior department will constitute the choir and the pastor discusses prayer topics for the Thursday night devotional services.

B F Kitzler foreman on the Big Four water line is a patient at Methodist hospital Indianapolis after an operation for double hernia on Wednesday of last week. Oldest Couple in Hancock County Henry and Sarah Bowman

The Findlay Courier turns to Mt Blanchard to note Hancock county’s oldest couple, Henry Bowman 93 and his wife, marking their 68th wedding anniversary. They married in 1862 after his Civil War service and raised five children. Their home holds relics from a long life including a basswood pie rolling pin and a 1798 Benjamin Bowman water cask.

Rev W E Bailey Dies After Long Ministry in Ohio

Rev W E Bailey of Mansfield died Tuesday March 3 at age 60 after a long ministry in Ohio. Pneumonia caused his death and burial was in Columbus. He led Carey church twice and built up congregations, served at South Main Mansfield seven years, preached in Canton Cleveland and Columbus circles, edited a Pennsylvania newspaper, and compiled two revival song books. He is survived by his second wife, two daughters Martha Walton and Mary Bauman, a son Rev Park Bailey, and other relatives.

George Martin Dead in Clearwater Florida

George Martin, 78, died at his Clearwater Florida home after a stroke. He spent most of his life in the area, moving to Florida about 20 years ago with his family. Funeral and burial were held Sunday afternoon in Clearwater.
