Wyandot County Urgently Seeks Blood Donors Today

Wyandot county faces a 232 pint deficit after 578 pints used in 1959 with only 346 donated locally. The Red Cross bloodmobile will be at First Methodist Church today from 1 to 7 p.m. to help keep the county blood bank stocked.

About 100 pupils from Colonel Crawford build perform Rumpelstiltskin Friday March 41 8 PM in the high school auditorium. Don Wilson composer from Jack Benny show wrote the tunes for this Hans Christian Andersen tale. Retreat At Carey Shrine For Men

A weekend spiritual retreat for men sponsored by the Carey Council Knights of Columbus is set for March 11 to March 13 at the Carey Shrine. Activities occur in the Retreat Chapel with speakers Rev. Open House Visit at Columbus State Hospital Nurtures Family Ties

Mr. and Mrs. Truman Romig toured Columbus State Hospital Nurse's Home and the hospital during an open house hosted by their daughters Sara Romig and Diana Dunn, both student nurses. Band Mothers Plan Projects at Carey High

The Carey Band Mothers met at the high school band room. Director Walter Bixler introduced Karen Myers who played a flute solo Mignonette accompanied by Nancy Phillips. Plans were laid for the spring dance on April 23 and for an alumni banquet, plus the annual band banquet. Refreshments followed in the cafeteria. Mohawk Students Lead Ohio Agricultural Exam Scores

Medard Ruehle scored 117 and Don Gottfried 101 for Mohawk High School as 1,132 Ohio seniors took the agricultural competition. Top score was 136. State chairman Chester S. Vernon Risner Killed in Icy Route 23 Crash North of Carey

Vernon LeRoy Risner 22 of Route 23 was fatally injured in a one car crash on icy Route 23 two miles north of Carey just after 1 30 a m Sunday March 6 1960. The 1959 Thunderbird skid 285 feet and struck a tree near the Fredritz farm. He died en route to Blanchard Valley Hospital from a skull fracture. Survived by parents Caloway and Eva and two sisters Marlene and Karen and grandmothers Mrs Risner and Mrs Phillips. Funeral Tuesday at Bristoll Funeral Home with burial in Spring Grove Cemetery.

Ronald Wisner of Upper Sandusky High School led Wyandot county with 233 points out of 300 in the General Scholarship Test. William Kinley was second with 226, among 25 high ranking boys whose scores ranged 269 to 249, while top girls scored 261 to 234. Drivers Lose Licenses After Drag Racing Guilty Finding

Gerald Fletcher 20 of Carey and Claren E. Moses 18 of Findlay were found guilty of drag racing by Judge James A. Bope in Findlay Municipal court. Fletcher fined 40 dollars plus costs and Moses 25 dollars plus costs. Each license suspended 90 days. Charges filed by a Findlay police patrolman.
