Fire Destroyed Wenner Home and Furnishings
Mr and Mrs Forrest Wenner of northeast of Carey on Rt 509 lost their 10 room country home Sunday in a fire that destroyed the house and most possessions except the clothes they wore The blaze started in a closet under a stairway Officials said the cause was undetermined Firemen from Carey Crawford joined by McCutchenville aided and water came from a nearby stream They spent about five hours at the scene The Wenner family found temporary housing at the Kinney farm house care was taken to insure personal items including a chest kept on the second floor by Harold Medcalf The Wenner family Wendell and Rose Ann and Mr Medcalf escaped with no other injuries

Hog House Fire Destroys Pigs on Ritter Farm
A fire at the Merril Ritter farm six miles south of Carey destroyed a hog house and ten pigs at 6 30 p m Monday. Five sows and 40 young pigs were rescued. No insurance covered the loss which was about 1000 dollars. Wharton volunteer fire department responded.

Overmyer admits ownership of porn cache found near Carey
Fremont report says Clifford Overmyer an Ohio penitentiary prisoner admitted ownership of pornographic materials found in a trailer near Carey. His attorney said Overmyer signed a statement in the prison before a guard, claiming the material was missed in a raid in October 1958. He plans to show the cache to his parole officer and destroy it after release in April.

Recovers stolen office machines in Tiffin case
Tiffin Police Captain F H Wilkin son recovered two calculators and a cash register from Royalton Ky last Thursday. The items valued at 830 dollars were stolen from two Tiffin firms in January and sold in Royalton. Suspects Robert Hackworth Kenneth Risner and Carl LeMaster are held in Wyandot county jail on 4000 bond each and charged with burglaries in Upper Sandusky and Lovell.
