Sophomores Stage Short Comedy Plays at Q Community Club

Sophomores presented two comedies to members at the K of C Hall on Monday night February 27. The casts included Maxwell, Tommy Atkins, Mrs Maxwell, June Sizemore, Wilbur Maxwell, Richard Hall and Hercules in Shock of His Life.

Alspachs Return From Florida Auto Trip

Mr and Mrs Aaron Alspach of Vanlue returned Friday from a Florida driving trip. They left January 11 and came back two weeks earlier than planned due to cold weather. They stayed in Oneco and New Smyrna Beach meeting friends from Findlay and viewing orange groves and green bean fields damaged by a frost near Lake Okeechobee.

Recital by Joan Cole and Mu Pi Epsilon at College of Music

Friday night February 24 a recital presented by Mu Pi Epsilon and Phi Mu Alpha at the College of Music Cincinnati featured Miss Joan Cole and a mixed chorus with instrumental ensembles and soloists. John Larkin performed Bagatelles by Felix Labinski while Charles Attix sang Mam'selle Marie and The Crying Water with piano by John Hoberg. Ella Maye McDonald, a pianist, played Chopin Scherzo in C sharp minor. the chorus performed six songs by Paul Hindemith. Miss Cole accompanied by Tabithe Robbins sang Rachmaninoff At Night and Weaver Moon Marketing. Walter Piston Divertimento closed with the instrumental group.

Pre-School Clinic Planned by Wyandot Health Department

The Wyandot County Department of Health plans a yearly pre-school clinic for children entering school next September. Parents can learn if their child needs medical attention and address issues like infected tonsils teeth or malnutrition. Mothers of pre-school children are urged to contact the local school superintendent for examination dates, with Upper Sandusky and Carey dates to be announced later.

Burson Couple on Extended 2 Month Vacation

Mr and Mrs Earl Burson left Saturday on a two month vacation. They planned to visit Hamilton Missouri to attend a Penney James Angus sale. They will tour the Southwest and visit California relatives. First Woman Watchmaker Wins National Certificate

Miss Mary A. McBurney of Amsterdam Missouri becomes the first woman in the United States to earn the Certificate of Proficiency from the United Horological Association of America. She studied at the Kansas City School of Watchmaking and is associate editor of The Stemwinder.

Instrumental groups at Carey High School announce two concerts in under two weeks. The school morning concert features the high school band, followed by a March 17 evening program in the auditorium where the orchestra and concert band share the stage. The orchestra opens, the band closes, and two new instruments a conservatory oboe and a bassoon will enrich the band’s repertoire.
