The sale conducted by receiver H. G. Chambers drew a large crowd. The Carey Farmers' Cooperative Co bought most office furniture. R. A. Bardon of Upper Sandusky purchased a 1920 Ford coupe for 306 dollars. Total sales reached 528.12 dollars.
Assistant State Fire Marshal Dennison and Fire Chief Ilo Wonder inspected Carey last week and identified 100 chimneys requiring attention. Dennison praised Carey for the clean roofs in his seven county district.
The Carey Athletic Association will hold a meeting Monday evening March 13 at Moosey Hall. Officers for the coming season are to be elected. Everyone interested in baseball as players or fans is urged to attend.

Henry M Justice aged about 78 died at his home in Mifflin township last Wednesday afternoon after years of ill health. He was born in Marion county in 1846. His funeral was held Friday afternoon at the home and conducted by Rev G H Beaschler of Gilboa, a longtime friend.
A general Chamber of Commerce meeting will be held Thursday evening March 23. Every member is urged to be present.
The Strand Theatre announces Phenomena will appear for a full week offering concentration demonstrations. He claims to locate missing persons and solve mysteries without claiming supernatural powers. A women only demonstration is planned Thursday March 16 with private Q and A.
Carey High girls win 14 to 4 and boys dominate Wharton 42 to 5 before the largest crowd of the season. Gate receipts exceed 70 dollars. Carey’s defense shines, lineup includes Ogg Twining Trubey Rear guard Newhard and Lytle with Tong as guard. Carey aims to defeat Arcadia tomorrow at Arcadia.
A town ship farm bureau meeting in Upper Sandusky heard Hon Iv in Halstead urge county wide support for the June 8 Pioneer Picnic. Township reps pledged backing for a fore noon tug of war and Marion Bland plans a horseshoe pitching contest. Prof J B Moore leads music for a big chorus at the event.
Last Sunday evening the Marion Findlay bus on its final run for the day lost a wheel on a rough stretch near Upper Sandusky. Passengers were transferred to two taxis from Upper Sandusky and none were injured as the bus was moving slowly.
J Walters of the northern town suburb returns from the sanitarium at Grand Rapids Michigan after several weeks of treatment. He is much improved in health.
At a packed Kiwanis luncheon 49 members and 4 visitors heard W. E. Brennan of National Cash Register Co. of Dayton discuss U S leadership in industry and global trade. He urged efficiency in labor and management, continued exports, education, and international understanding to prevent wars amid 1922 business challenges.
About twenty five Legionaires gathered at the American Legion club rooms Tuesday evening to initiate several new members into the local post. The following were welcomed: Anthony Moes Joseph A Schira Andrew Suscio Wm R Weaver Dan G McLaughlin and Henry O Done. Twelve candidates were absent due to bad weather and will be initiated next meeting. The cats committee served chow and members enjoyed social time in the card and billiard room.
The Maroons of this city lost Monday evening at Marion to Marion Business College by 37 to 20. Carey had beaten Marion 36 to 16 last week. Clair Lytle Ned Twining and Gerald Witzier attended the Marion game.

A good crowd attended the hog sale held by S. M. Ranger in the Nacibar barn last Wednesday afternoon. High grade stock and registerable hogs were offered. Chester Whites averaged 42.50 dollars, large Hampshires 41.50, and all Hampshires averaged 312 dollars with 44 head sold.
Henry Dietelbach of Crawford was taken to the Tiffin hospital last week for an operation for bladder trouble which he will undergo this morning at 8:00 o'clock. Mrs Dietelbach and daughter Miss Matie and Mrs. Matt Tracy spent Sunday with him.
Mrs. R E Oglesbee travels to Kenton at noon with her husband and son Arth after their stay at Mc Kittrick Hospital following a dynamite blast at the stone shop or quarry.
