Mrs. Howard Snowberger reports two blankets and a clothes dryer ruined by a blaze on Friday evening. Two men saw smoke from a back porch and pulled items from an automatic dryer before tossing them outside, where the blankets were consumed. Cause remains undetermined.

Police investigated two weekend break-ins with no losses reported. Gamble store proprietor John Mullholand found a shed door forced and a stockroom door barred from inside. plaster damage suggested intruders tried to break through a wall. Stolen 1949 Ford Recovered Damaged Near Wapakoneta
Paul Burson reported a 1949 Ford stolen from N Muncie Street early Friday. Detroit hitch hikers were suspected after inquiries about routes. the car was found abandoned near Wapakoneta, damaged with stripped transmission gear and missing fluids. Burson and Chief Henry Pieraomini retrieved it and sold it to a dealer.
