Death of Peter Arend prominent farmer near Carey
Peter Arend died at 2 30 pm Tuesday at his home three miles west of Carey after a year and a half of ill health. He was 64 11 16 and born March 20 1870 in Big Spring township Seneca county. Funeral Friday at Our Lady of Consolation church, burial in St Marys cemetery. Survived by wife Margaret Feck and six children, with several siblings.

Farmer allowed to thresh soybeans under revised contract rules
A Wyandot county farmer was told he could not thresh soybeans for seed but after consulting authorities learned the rule changed. Christian, county agriculture agent, states the 1934 contract restrictions were modified allowing contract signers to take easy beans off contracted acres for seed. The Carey Times published the notice on August 16, 1934.

Dog License Deadline Notice and Penalties
March 2, 1935 is the deadline to obtain dog licenses. A deputy dog warden will canvass house to house and confiscate all unlicensed dogs with fines ranging from 4 to 25 dollars in costs. Mayor Hereds signs the notice.

Prison break suspect sentenced after suspended term revoked
Kenneth Risner, one of three inmates who attempted a jail break in Upper Sandusky, appeared before Judge Russell H. Kear after failing to meet suspended sentence terms for assault with intent to kill Floyd West. The court revoked the suspension and sentenced him to an indeterminate one to 15 year term in the Ohio penitentiary plus costs.
