The Carey Volunteer Fire Department answered two calls on June 27. A truck driven by Roger Hill Adrian hit a pole and caught fire on County Road 16. Bristoll Ambulance transported Hill to a hospital where he was discharged. Earlier, at Higgin Saw Mill, a lumber pile caught fire and was quickly controlled with minor damage.
