Bridal Memories Display At Carey Garden Club Show
The Carey Garden Club held its 6th Annual Flower Show at the Methodist Church basement on June 16. Weddings gowns worn by Mrs Murry Pipes, Mrs Nixtivan Kenny, Mrs Cloyce Roeder, and Mrs Georg Biron were shown with a collage by Mrs J F Dible. A two tier wedding cake by Mrs Earl Robson, centerpieces, and Bonsai displays accompanied the fashion exhibits. Jury ribbons crowned best arrangements, with numerous prize winners in roses, perennials, and artistic Bridal Memories arrangements, including classes by Anna Margaret Dible and Margaret Robison. Visitors from Findlay and nearby towns attended the event.

The Carey Jaycees and Jayceeettes held a joint installation banquet at the Evergreen Restaurant in Upper Sandusky. Dwight Orians named Outstanding Jaycee of the Year and received the Paul E Hoepf Award. Amelia Hunter honored as Outstanding Jayceeette and board member. Legacy of awards and perfect attendance certificates followed with new officers installed for both groups.

Curator Addresses Kiwanis: Wyandot County History Talk
Harry E. Kinley, curator of Wyandot County Museum in Upper Sandusky, spoke to the Carey Kiwanis Club at a four luncheon meeting at the Wera Restaurant. He traced Carey’s founding in 1843 by R. M. Shuler and W. M. Buell, named for Judge Carey, and described the county’s early geography, Indian trails, and railroad connections. Wyandot County’s history, from Wyandot Indians to settlement patterns and transportation routes, was outlined with emphasis on local geography and heritage.

Legion To Sell Tickets For Homecoming And Parade
The Carey American Legion plans a June 30 ticket sale at 6 pm with door to door sales by members for the Homecoming. A July 6 parade entry is sought and officials are asked to contact the Legion. The pavilion at Memorial Park will be paid off this year with proceeds from Homecomings, totaling about 12000 dollars. 6500 from the Centennial of 1958 already funded part of it.

The Shrine Cafeteria was formally dedicated at a Sunday grand opening led by Father Hubert Kobinski.
