Dr. Beck Memorial Fence Dedication Near Vanlue

A steel and brick memorial fence at Zion-Bloom cemetery near Vanlue will be dedicated to the late Dr. Colon Beck on Sunday June 26 at 2 PM. The program includes a male chorus prayer talks and addresses by local pastors and attorney H G Chambers. Dr Beck who practiced in Clyde and is buried there left funds for the fence.

Clow & Son Win Pipe and Fitting Contract for Water Project

James B. Clow & Son of Chicago were the successful bidders with the lowest bid to supply 1500 feet of 6 inch cast iron pipe with valves and fittings for a water line extension on E South Street. The project aims to eliminate a dead end and create a complete circuit with Frederick Street, and includes a new fire hydrant on E South Street. Work starts after deliveries and will take about two weeks. Other bidders were Crane Co of Lima National Supply Co of Toledo and C D Mitchell of Carey. A wholesale electric rate reduction from Ohio Power Co was accepted by the board. A Ford 1 ton truck from Orwick Motor Sales and a Dodge truck from Carey Motor Sales have been delivered to the board and Carey corporation respectively.

Doctor R J Semons To Leave Carey For One Year

Dr R J Semons longtime Carey physician will depart after July 1 for Austin Texas to serve a one year residency as house physician at Seton hospital due to ill health. He plans to return to Carey and resume practice. Mrs Lemons and son will join him after visiting relatives in Connelyville Pennsylvania. Dr Drungenbolz Canton intern at Akron City hospital will take over the practice temporarily arriving July 1 and will share the Semons home with the family.
