The Carey school board and Superintendent-elect Earl B Driver announced Tuesday the hiring of four teachers for the coming session. The new staff includes Miss Jane Stahl near Findlay and Miss Grace Firestine of Findlay for elementary roles, Miss Ellen Rudolph of Findlay for vocational home economics, and William Holloway of Salem, a Wittenberg graduate, for instrumental music.

Findlay Couple Held in Hancock County Jail on Theft Charges

A Findlay couple James Jgonard Reis 22 and Kathryn Isabelle 17 confessed to stealing a car in Marion Indiana and license plates in Findlay. They were captured by Corporal Clifford O Velliquette after a high speed chase in Carey. The stolen car crashed at the A C Y tracks causing hood damage. They await Indiana authorities.

Death of Arlington superintendent’s mother

Earl B Driver head of Arlington schools received word of his mother Jane Ann Driver death at Mt Solon Virginia. He left with family for his former home to stay two to three weeks. She would have been 82 in August and had been ill the past winter. Survived by two sons five daughters and fourteen grandchildren. Father Peter Driver preceded her in 1928.

Painted Buildings at Byal Park Findlay

Members of the Hancock County Camp Meeting Association and their families gathered at Byal Park Findlay last week to paint the park buildings used for annual camp meetings. Fifty people attended including children and thirty gallons of paint were used. At noon a potluck dinner was served.
