Carey school students in grades 6 to 12 may attend the Cleveland Indians versus Boston Red Sox game in Cleveland on July 19 as guests of the Carey Kiwanis club. The club provides transport and admission. each boy should bring lunch money. Registration forms available at Mapes Rexall Drug Store after noon Friday and due by July 12.

Farm Accident Injures 8-Year-Old Francis Fox

Francis Fox, eight, son of Mr and Mrs Leo For, suffered a left leg fracture in a farm mishap on the William Spackey farm two miles northeast of Carey. John Guy Greer backed a wagon into the barn to attach a trailer when the tractor rolled downhill and struck him. The bone broke below the hip. He was taken to a Carey physician, then Findlay for X rays, and admitted to Findlay hospital Wednesday morning for treatment.

Oggs Purchase Home in St Marys Suburb

Mr and Mrs W J Ogg of 105 Wyandot avenue purchased the new house at 6532 S Patterson street from Mr and Mrs W F Hendel of St Marys. The deal was arranged through A N Stevens realtor. The Oggs plan to move about July 1 after finishing work. Hendel, Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co employee, was transferred from Akron to St Marys and travels within several states.

Carey Merchants Schedule Two Games Sunday

The Carey Merchants softball team will play two games Sunday evening at Carey Memorial Park beginning at 7 30. Opponents are Buds Place of New Riegel and a strong Marysville squad. The Merchants are four and three this season with all losses in extra innings. Last Sunday they dropped a 7 6 decision to the Tiffin Nationals in 12 innings at Tiffin.

Carey native tops overseas duty as base operations officer

Captain Harold E. Krout of Carey is stationed at Clark Air Base in the Philippines for an overseas tour with the U S Air Force. He serves as base operations officer for the 6200th Air Base Group and Thirteenth Air Force, after service in the Aleutians and at Bolling Field. He is a Air Medal recipient, a Carey High School graduate, attended Miami University, and has three children.

Gypsies Ousted from Camp Near Seneca Wyandot Line

More than 100 gypsies, including 28 house trailers and many cargo trucks, were forced from a camp near the Seneca Wyandot county line by Sheriff John W. Dysard. They were escorted to the county line, then across Seneca county with help from Sheriff B. H. Stansbery and Marion county authorities. The caravan, en route to Steubenville, carried spray painting gear.

Mothers Visit Sons in New Jersey Military Camps

Mrs. John I. Bradman and three Orians families traveled by train from June 9 to visit sons stationed at Fort Dix Camp Kilmer and nearby sites in New Jersey. Gaylord Derr ranked first in Wyandot county and third in the district among 4 H club dairy boys taking part in cattle judging at the W R Brooks farm south of Bucyrus. Sheep Attack by Dogs Worsens in Carey Area

Sheep invasions by dogs near Carey continue this week, with two black dogs attacking a Wilfrid Logsdon flock and injuring one sheep seriously. A Carey man who owned the dog previously responsible for losses on Wesley Phillips and Karl Hosafros farms was fined $10 and costs for failure to keep a dog under control. the dog involved has been destroyed.

Kurtz Buys Summit Shoe Repair Shop

Richard Kurtz, son of Mr and Mrs Hugh Kurtz, west of Carey, has purchased Summit's Shoe Repair Shop and opens Kurtz Shoe Repair. The deal, handled by A N Stevens, covers all shoe work from half soles to patching and dyeing. Kurtz is a World War II veteran who served three years in the U S Navy.
