Saunders Named Supply Pastor At Farley Methodist Church

Thomas M. Saunders son of Mrs Myrtle Saunders of Adrian has been appointed supply pastor for the coming fiscal year at the Farley Methodist Church near Berkey The Ohio Annual Conference made the appointment Saunders a senior at Bowling Green State University College of Education received his local ministers license at the Toledo Area District Conference May 19 and will enter the Methodist Theological Seminary near Delaware after completing his 1964 university studies The license lasts one year and is renewable.

Crime Control Clinic Attended by Ohio Police Leaders

Police Chief W. R. Jacob and Officer William F. Swartz attended the crime control clinic in Norwalk on May 28. The session was the sixth of ten clinics across Ohio, organized by State Attorney General William B. Saxbe with multiple law enforcement and safety groups. Topics included mail frauds traffic accidents B C I services arrest interrogation civil disturbances and police conduct in court.

Ferguson Family Reassigned at Ohio Methodist Conference

The Rev J Frank Ferguson is reassigned to First Methodist Church at Lakeside after the Ohio Conference closing session. Rev and Mrs Ferguson and lay delegate Cloyce Lanning attended the session which ran through Saturday. Youth session drew over 400 participants with David Stoltz as local youth delegate. Woman fined and given suspended jail time in petty larceny case

Mrs Polly Risner of Carey appeared in Upper Sandusky Municipal Court on a petty larceny charge for allegedly stealing $2.59 worth of yard goods from Scheck's Market. She was fined 50 dollars plus costs, and sentenced to 10 days in county jail with the jail term and 25 dollars of the fine suspended.

Darel Eschbach Receives Mechanical Engineering Degree

Darel Dare Eschbach Jr. earned a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from the University of Toledo at commencement in the Field House last Thursday evening. He completed the degree February 1 and remains a full time systems analyst in the university computation center while pursuing graduate work. His family attended, and William S. Sign shatters windshield injures Findlay couple

Mrs. Joe Newhard and daughter Ann narrowly escape serious harm when a riding academy sign blown by a storm shatters their windshield northwest of Findlay. Tiny glass bits peppered their bodies. Mrs. Newhard suffers minor cuts while both wear glasses protecting their eyes. They seek help, then drive home.

Carey American Legion Little Leaguers beat Wharton 12 to 1 on the local diamond. Paul Frederick led with three hits and four runs in four plate appearances.
