Keller Family Weekend Visit Across Kansas and Ohio

Mr and Mrs W B Keller of Peabody Kansas with sons Victor and Billy and daughter Maxine spent a weekend at the Springfield home of Mr and Mrs Ezra Keller. Victor joined from Wittenberg College after stops with Mrs Emma Carothers in Sidney and Mr and Mrs George Kuntz in Cleveland. Mr Keller, son of Jacob Keller who died January 26 1929 at Peabody, ran a retail clothing business.

District Eastern Star Holds Sixth Annual District Meet

The 10th District of the Eastern Star convenes Thursday in Gardy with Crawford Chapter No 168 hosting. Lecture on Food Preservation at Frigidaire Affiliate

Nearly 200 people attended Monday afternoon in the room east of the post office for Katharine Harper of Frigidaire Corporation. The illustrated talk traced the history of food preservation and explained modern methods. Churches aided the effort and each society received $5 plus a recipe book. Minor Mann was suggested for marshal and Robert O Connor for the other office. Filing declarations and petitions must be in by June 14 for primaries on August 13 and September 6 for township posts. Graduated Lyman Baker Heads to Moscow County Agent Post

Lyman Baker son of Mr and Mrs Forest Baker of north of town was graduated Tuesday from the College of Agriculture at Ohio State University. He joined the track team all four years and became a member of the honorary fraternity in the college of agriculture. He will serve as assistant county agent in Washington county with headquarters at Marietta after 66 weeks he will move to a permanent post in Muskingum county and be located at Zanesville.

Operation While On Trip Carl Koehler Ill

Chemist Carl Koehler of the lime plant returned to Pleasantville New Jersey last Thursday for a Sunday medical review. He fell ill with acute indigestion during the trip and underwent an operation Saturday night. No return date to work is known. He had gone east for his parents wedding anniversary and his father’s birthday in Allentown and attended Lehigh Day at his alma mater.

Wool Shipment From Hendricks Warehouse

Two carloads of wool were shipped Wednesday from the Hendricks warehouse. It had been bought for Dillinger and Son of Bloomville. Two graders from Cleveland were here and closely graded the outgoing wool. The market just now is uncertain.

University appoints Arthur S Pestle as speech instructor

Arthur S Pestle former high school principal has accepted a speech instructor post at the University of Cincinnati. He will earn a master's degree from Ohio Wesleyan at Delaware next week and his family will move to Cincinnati this fall.

Blow Safe at Elevator at Farmers Cooperative Co

A safe at the Farmers Cooperative Co elevator was blown open during the night. Entry was gained by prying a door and nitroglycerine was mixed with a fibre pin tray. Less than $100 stolen, checks and papers left, insurance covered the damage, no clues found by Sheriff Stansbery.

The Lutheran choir meets Friday for social time at the parsonage and Sunday at 7 30 for worship. Rev. Kibler of Upper Sandusky will speak. Next week mid week service moves to Tuesday with Rev. July and August combine Sunday school and morning worship.

The Methodist Children’s Day service will be held next Sunday June 16 during the regular Sunday school hour. Rehearsals are set for Thursday Friday and Saturday afternoon at 1 30 o’clock. All participants are requested to attend each practice.
