Drunk and Disorderly Men Fined in Upper Sandusky Court

An electrical storm Sunday afternoon disabled a substation transformer in the northeast part of town. Power was off citywide for a short period and all street lights were out throughout Sunday night.

Mrs Sadie Wonder owns a 175 year old German hymn and prayer book once belonging to her husband L M Wonder. The volume from 1753 in Germantown printed by Christopher Saur includes The New Complete Song Book with Psalms of David and Heidelberg Catechism. Houk's hardware store at Findlay and Vance streets was robbed Monday evening of about 450 dollars in merchandise including two shot guns and silverware. Entrance was gained by cutting a door glass and drawing a bolt. The owners, W H Houk and son Harold, were away caring for Mrs Houk at St Luke's Hospital. No clues as to the burglars.

Carey Boys Struggle as Galion Wins 6 to 2 in Carey's Stop
A large Carey crowd traveled to Galion for a junior baseball game where Carey could not cope with the unfamiliar diamond, losing to Galion 6 to 2. Stolen bases by Orians Messmer Skahill Stahl and Stout highlighted the game. Galion led 6 to 2 as Carey pitchers Jesko and Skahill walked several batters. Next Saturday, Carey hosts Marion Eagles at 2 30 p.m. for another shot to prove themselves. The K of C team will also face Mt Gilead before the district championship. Gasoline woes delay Big Four train near Clyde
The Big Four plag train ran out of gas near Clyde last Saturday. It was refueled at Clyde to reach Carey where Agent Squier supplied fuel for the return to Sandusk. The scheduled 10:40 arrival was pushed to 12:00 as plans to clean the gas tank were disrupted.
