At a May 29 meeting in Mrs Rex Hustons home the Carey JayCees wives formed the JayCee Jays. Officers elected include President Mrs H R Wenner and Vice President Mrs Huston with meetings set for the second Monday each month. Dible Family Attends Valley Forge Graduation and Scout Jamboree

Mr and Mrs J F Dible returned from the East and Wayne where they attended Valley Forge Military Academy graduation for Cadet Sgt Joseph F Dible Jr in a class of 187. They visited National Park for Scout Jamboree preparations to be held June 21 to July 6. Younger son Daniel, a Carey Boy Scout, will join the national jamboree with a trial event at Mt Gilead State Lakes Park.

May Festival Queen Crowned at St Charles Church

Anne Marie Semons of Nederland Texas crowned Queen of the May Festival held Sunday May 21 at St Charles Church. Anne Fetters, daughter of Mr and Mrs Don Fetters, received two clippings about the event from Anne Marie Semons, former Carey Anne. Mrs. Jack Duringer and her son Ronald Thomas plan to fly Monday to Maracaibo Venezuela where her husband serves as chief clerk in the Gul Oil Co field office. They will spend two days in Miami for visa formalities before arriving in Maracaibo that afternoon. Mothers of scouts attending Camp Pittenger Brownies and leaders are invited to a rally from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday June 14. Each attendee should bring a personal box lunch.
