Dedication of Our Lady of Carey Seminary Blesses Carey
The dedication of Our Lady of Carey seminary, built by the Franciscan Friars Minor Conventual near the Our Lady of Consolation Shrine, was solemnly blessed by Bishop Karl Alter. More than 50 priests and many congregants attended a procession, benediction, and a banquet at the parish hall. Nine clerics joined from Angola Indiana and twenty-three students will start studies in September.

Successful Jersey cattle sale at Carey farm Friday
A public auction of Jersey cows and heifers was held Friday evening at the Frank Ogg farm on the edge of Carey. The sale attracted a large crowd with many cattle sold. The Patterson Jersey Farm of Bellefontaine owned the stock, Frank Lile of Bellefontaine was sales manager, and Col Earl Wright of Bellefontaine along with H G Orians of Carey served as auctioneers.
