Patterson Buys Partner's Interest in Marathon Station
Roscoe A. Patterson of Ross and Earl's Marathon Station has purchased Earl Doppler's half of Patterson's Marathon and will run the business as Patterson's Marathon. Motorist Killed On Unopened Bypass
Dr. Raymond A. Griswold 45 mechanicsburg osteopath died after his rented car struck a 5 foot sandpile east of County Road 95 on a new 4 lane bypass under construction. He died at Blanchard Valley Hospital. Coroner Byron Voorhees said the chest was crushed. He was speeding on a closed westbound lane when he hit the sandpile. Juveniles Fined for Water Tank Vandalism in Carey
Four 17 year olds faced Wyandot county juvenile court after painting a sign on a 250000 gallon water tank in Carey. Each received a $25 fine and costs and must cover tank damage. Licenses suspended 30 days. Another 17 year old had his driver’s license suspended 30 days after speeding and a car crash.

The 7th Annual State Shuffleboard Singles Tournament occurred July 19 20 and 21 at Lakeside with about 75 entrants from across Ohio. State Treasurer John D. Herbert reported Wyandot county general sales tax for the year ended June 30, 1963 totaled 249 848 58 dollars, up 14 9 percent from 217 329 12. Auto sales tax rose 15 9 percent to 154 999 77. Hancock and Seneca counties showed mixed gains and declines. Statewide general sales rose 9 6 percent and auto sales rose 16 1 percent.

Ohio highway patrol fines totaled 3 039 392 during the 1962 fiscal year, topping 1960 and 1961 receipts. Liquor fines declined to 73 927 90 with the state receiving half. Patrols' 45 percent share was 1 367 726 75 earmarked for highways. Wyandot county provided 5 817 15 patrol share and 97 50 liquor share. Six large counties Muskingum Sandusky Delaware Montgomery Clark Wood accounted for 22.1 percent of collections. Twenty eight counties reported no liquor violations.

Stone Truck Ditches After Right Tire Blowout Near Rawson
A dump truck owned by Max Silverstein and driven by Norman Musgrave left U S 25 southwest of Findlay near Rawson at 10 50 a m Monday after two right tires blew out. The loaded stone truck slid into the right ditch, two wreckers pulled it free, traffic halted about two hours. Musgrave uninjured. minor truck damage. By Tuesday the truck was back in service hauling stone to an Interstate 75 construction site.

The Rev. Harry Cole, pastor of Hopewell Church of God, resigned as supervisor of the Seneca County Children's Center effective August.
