Carey Homecoming Parade Awards Hit July 10
The Child Conservation League of Carey won first in the Homecoming Parade with a Mother Goose themed float. Second place went to 4-H Exp entry by the Careyettes 4-H Club and third to Carey Citizen's Band Radio. Robert Webb and Pamela Wentz were junior homecoming king and queen with attendants. Judi Kramer crowned queen with sister Joyce, the 1968 queen, as presenter. queen’s attendants listed. Prizes included Bob Waltermeyer of Fostoria $300, Larry Crates $150, and Paul Reusch $50. many other prize winners named.

Several Accidents Reported In Ohio Community Parking Lot and Streets
A sequence of minor crashes across Carey and Findlay areas on July 10 to July 15 caused varying damages. Cars including a 64 Pontiac and a 65 Buick sustained minor to moderate hits. Police cited Hensley and Mogel for failures and reckless operation. One driver received treatment for a split lip and shock after a rear end collision on Findlay Street.

Fire Damages O Flaherty Auto Service in Carey
Fire destroyed part of O Flaherty s Auto Service on East Findlay Street Carey causing extensive damage to three autos and a school bus with equipment and supplies. No injuries reported and losses not yet estimated. Fire officials say a trouble lamp may have ignited gasoline or oil on the floor and the garage is unusable until repairs are completed.

Tragic Bicycle Accident Claims Five Year Old Bobbie Russell
Bobbie L. Russell five years old of Carey died at Blanchard Valley Hospital Findlay from an em bolism after injuries from a July 9 bicycle accident on West Street Carey. Vicki Ann Hoopf 23 of Carey was driving a 1967 Ford east when the child rode from a driveway and collided with the right front fender. Surviving family includes father Gerald Russell and mother Vina Fulford with siblings and grandparents. Funeral services were held July 12 at Bristoll Funeral Home with interment in Spring Grove Cemetery.

Selora Jacoby 80 dies in Tiffin after 1963 residence
Selora Jacoby 80 of Tiffin died July 13 at 6 30 am in St Francis Home where she lived since 1963 she was a former Carey resident. Born January 28 1889 in Wyandot County she married John Jacoby in 1913 he died in 1963. Survived by daughters Sister Mary Paul and Henrietta Engle sons Rev Aloysius Jacoby and Gene a sister and seven grandchildren. Services at 9 30 am Wednesday July 16 at Our Lady of Consolation Church with burial in St Marys Cemetery. Bristoll Funeral Home in charge.
