Carey Homecoming Opens With Family Day Festivities
Homecoming events begin at Memorial Park with Family Day amusements from Dine Amusement Co. Winners of the Jr. King and Queen contest are Pamela Ann Wentz and runners-up Cardy Coldiron Gene Rutter, Bobby Houdeshell, with prizes donated by local merchants. A Sky Diving spectacle led by Larry Strahm and a parade formation on W Findlay Street will cap the day, followed by a Big Event drawing at 11 p.m. Wyandot County tornado watch meeting set for July 8.

Mishaps on US 23 Involve Canoe and Cars
State highway patrol investigated two Wyandot County accidents on July 4. No injuries were reported. At 3 30 p m a rear collision occurred on U S 23 north of the C O Railroad crossing involving Dallas Mundy Carey and Roger A Smiley both of Carey. A canoe fell from a trailer in a second crash at 6 10 p m on U S 23 eight miles south of state route 67. Virgil J Bogard Jr of Sycamore drove a car pulling a canoe laden trailer. a canoe fell into the path of a car driven by William C McGurnes Wayne Michigan Moderate damage was reported to the Michigan auty.
