Kappa Delta Phi Float Wins Caney Homecoming Parade

The Kappa Delta Phi Sorority float won first place at the Caney Homecoming parade last Friday. Six youngsters rode the float with Tommy Lang as Junior King and Tina Hotelling as Junior Queen. Carey Greenhouse provided flowers. Second place went to Mother Gooseland by the Tiny Tots Child Conservation League of Forest. Third place was Help Keep Carey Clean by the Carey Jaycees.

Carey Legion Homecoming Parade Features Vibrant Floats And Prizes

A Carey American Legion Homecoming parade showcased float entries from Ma Imah ot ds y low AP of She Earl Green Post 344. The event included Youht Activ ities, G Go Girls, Vibrations Five, and numerous marching bands. Prizes ranged from 300 to 50 dollars with local dignitaries officiating and a beaming crowd enjoying concessions and new attractions.

Carey Police investigate an accident on East Findlay Street near Vance Street Monday morning. Pedestrian Maxine Roynon of 606 West Findlay Street sustained leg and body bruises after being struck by a northbound 1966 Rambler driven by Willard Temple of 1922 Brooks Avenue Canton as he turned east. Gar Leaves Road Crashes Into Pole Near Carey

Sharon Asin Stover of 420 N Vance Street suffered abrasions and multiple lacerations when her car left state route 103 on a curve near Carey at 2 am Friday.
