Rev E C Cronk D D of Richmond Virginia will preach next Sunday morning at the English Lutheran church according to a local church notice.
W. B. Hoff of South Patterson Street reported a bountiful harvest of ripe tomatoes from his garden on Friday, sharing the produce with neighbors and noting the season’s good turnout.

Friday night around 10 Robert Thomas of Lite-Star on N Vance street spotted a flash of fire in a rear room of Houk's hardware store. Firefighters quickly contained the blaze. officials think overheated sawdust soaked with spilled oil lit the flames, and only a small floor area was scorched.
Friday evening around seven Dr Hartman operated at the Home and Hospital on an abscess formed on the left knee of Tommy Krum two year old son of Mr and Mrs Burton Krum. The abscess followed a bruise from a fall on South Street. Dr S R Bame, Mrs Krum and Jacob Wonder were present.
Samuel Seaman of West Findlay street collapsed from heat while picking cherries after climbing down a ladder. He recovered and was well the next day.
Thom Bros purchased S. H. Krebs electric driven air compressor and drill press and installed them in their garage on North Vance Street.

The Kiwanis gathering heard E. E. Bowen of Western Union recount rapid communication's history and local service. Toledo visitor E. C. Schaub spoke on Henry L. Doherty’s rise in finance as Carey delegates noted Cedar Point convention plans and a pending Inter-City union discussion.
The Methodist Church will observe Holy Communion Sunday morning and urges all members and friends to attend. Preaching services occur Sunday night as usual with Sunday school and Epworth League at regular hours. Evening services will be discontinued for six weeks beginning July 29.
Tuesday night a thief reached through a bedroom window at the A. L. Arnold residence on Dow street and stole a pair of trousers with some money in the pocket. A cap on the back porch was left behind.
Mrs. Albert Angus of Cleveland died Tuesday evening from heart trouble. A former Carey resident she leaves behind many friends in the area. Her son D. C. Angus lives on Dow street.
Three month old William Harvey Moffet died Saturday evening at the home of his grandparents Mr and Mrs Harvey Sopher on Dow Street after a two day illness with brain trouble. Burial was Monday at Spring Grove Cemetery with Rev. A J Foreman officiating. Attendants included relatives from Upper Sandusky and Findlay and a lengthy list of floral donors.
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Sopher and Mrs. Thelma Moffet express gratitude to neighbors and friends for kindness and sympathy during their hour of sadness. They also thank those who sent flowers and the minister for his comforting message.
The St Joseph's congregation in Salem township will hold its annual festival on Tuesday evening July 31. The event aims to bring together parishioners for food games and community fellowship. Organizers invite local residents to attend and support the fundraiser.
The Cc L of C will hold its monthly social meeting at the park if weather is favorable. otherwise it will meet at the K of C hall as usual.

George Terry Denman son of Mrs J A Hare of this city and Miss Helen Patton Griffith daughter of Mr and Mrs R H Griffith of Carey were married Saturday at 4 30 pm in a home ceremony on East Johnson street Rev R A Nenbach officiated. Attendants were Frank D Streby of Detroit and Romaine Gunther of Carey. Denman is an auto salesman with Stowe Motor Sales Co. in this city. Griffith is a teacher at the Samantha centralized school and music instructor. She attends Bowling Green normal school and plans to teach again this winter. Both are described as excellent young people.
Carey marked a very quiet Fourth of July with many residents attending celebrations in other towns or being away on picnics.
