Seventeen motorists cited for no tail light burning
Seventeen drivers from McCutchenville Upper Sandusky Forest Wharton Carey and nearby were summoned to Mayor Mullholand's court to answer driving with no tail light burning. They were fined four dollars each to cover fine and costs after appearing. Some protested prompting a city committee to ask for leniency and for the arrest order to be reconsidered, but the mayor insists state law must be obeyed and police remain vigilant.

City Team Edges Findlay in Eleven Innings in Carey Fight
Last Sunday the city team played Findlay American Legion on Carey diamond in an eleven inning thriller. Carey moundsman pitched well until the eleventh when two Findlay hits produced the winning runs. Findlay led early and after tied scores Carey briefly threatened with a double play ending a late chance. Next Sunday the city team travels to Dunkirk to meet another city squad with players reporting at 11:30 a.m. in front of Donelson's restaurant.

A coastal captain named Driver received a large American flag for his vessel the Dogger and named it Old Glory when raised. He later moved to Nashville where the flag was secretly kept during the war and quilted into a bed cover until 1862 when the 6th Ohio Infantry raised it over the capitol.
