Noah Ekleberry learns of his mother Mrs Viva Ekleberry who died at her son’s home in Bucyrus from diabetes at age nearly 73. She and husband moved from Carey to Bucyrus last fall after long years near Sycamore. Funeral at Evangelical church Belle Vernon at 2 p m burial Pleasant Ridge cemetery west of Sycamore. Family members left for Bucyrus to attend.

The couple used a single ring ceremony after a wedding breakfast at the bride's home and left for a short wedding trip. They will live with the groom's father. Mr Mathern works at the Mathern bakery.

William A Augustine Dies After Illness
William A Augustine of East Findlay Street died Sunday night at 11 35 due to heart trouble and dropsy at age 68 years 10 months 26 days. He was born in Adrian August 10 1855 and married Anna M Sheets in 1891. Survived by his widow and two sisters, he was a barber and member of the Carey Methodist church and Adrian Odd Fellows. Funeral services were held Wednesday at home with Rev W F Martin. pallbearers and interment followed at Turner Cemetery, Columbus Grove.

Samuel Senior Culp died Wednesday evening at his home two miles west of Carey from dropsy. Born March 23, 1850 he was 74 years 3 months and 16 days old. Survived by two daughters Mrs. G H Lashey of Marion and Mrs C C Kitzmiller of Newaygo Michigan three sons Arthur and Clarence of Marion and Earl at home and one sister Mrs Fannie Lick of Lancaster County Pennsylvania. Funeral from the home Friday at 1 30 pm with Rev W F Martin officiating. Methodist quartet to sing. Interment in Bigelow cemetery west of Carey. C X Diller in charge.

John L. Davis of West Virginia won the Democratic nomination after a week of deadlock at New York’s convention. Delegates shifted as McAdoo and Smith lost support, a dark horse option failed, and Davis was finally nominated by acclamation amid heavy voting across states. Nebraska backed Davis momentarily.
