The church dedication planned for August 3 to 10 is postponed by one month as construction is not complete. A definite date will be set after input from the Bishop and participants, with a hoped September dedication. The annual Conference starts August 27 in Ada and ends September - Bishop W F McDowell of Washington, DC presides.
The district W. A. rally will be held at Moose hall on Friday July 18 in both afternoon and evening sessions. Nellie Heppart Great Commander of Akron and Fannie E. Smith district supervisor of Wellington attend. Guests expected from Findlay Tiffin Fostoria Upper Sandusky Sycamore Rhucvrus and Galion.
A son was born to Mr and Mrs Clarence Elchert weighing nine pounds in the ceremony reported last Thursday morning. The announcement notes the newborn as a healthy male and records the family name for local listings.
Gov Donahey designates The Peoples Bank and The First National Bank as collection depositories in Lorain, Sandusky area for relief funds. Francis M Harris of Vance street dies Saturday evening at 6 after a six year invalid condition and a last Thursday fall that caused fatal injuries. Born July 19 1843 in Nashville Ohio he was 80 years 11 months and 10 days. Survived by wife a brother Theo Harris two half sisters and several relatives. Funeral Tuesday at 10 at home with Rev Hite officiating burial in Spring Grove cemetery. Out of town mourners include John Horton Vesteburg Mich Claire Gormley Metamora Grace Dargan Springfield Lucy Harris Carey Harris Nashville Ohio and Robert Doke Fostoria.
Mrs. Frank Harris expresses gratitude to the minister, singers, flower donors, those who furnished automobiles, and all who assisted during her bereavement.
Rev. Lewis P. Speaker came home last Saturday after a two week trip to the west. He attended the Kiwanis International convention in Denver then visited his brother Ed H. Speaker in Tulsa. He spent time in Colorado Springs visiting Pikes Peak. The trip featured very hot weather and near 100 degree days in Oklahoma. On the return, a Santa Fe train derailed near Galesburg Illinois due to a washout, stranding passengers eight hours before continuing to Chicago. Speaker’s mother resides in Tulsa and is in good health.
The new United Brethren church was dedicated last Sunday with services all day. Rev J M Ballinger of Findlay led the morning sermon and Rev Carl Roop of Findlay directed the music with a male quartet. An afternoon platform meeting featured Rev C D Moore of Bucyrus and several other pastors, and Rev C V Roop of Findlay led the evening dedication service.

Laura E Gieger has leased her restaurant to Frank Roland and will depart in September with her daughter for a visit with another daughter in Oklahoma. Tonight at 7 30 the Pythian Sisters lodge rooms host an installation with all officers and members urged to attend as there will be something new.
The Indiana Tractors of Fadlay defeated the city team 12 to 3 last Sunday. Carey struggled to hit the opposing pitcher consistently.

Rev. L P Speaker shared travel and sightseeing from his Kiwanis International Convention trip in Denver. Delegates from Ohio led attendance with a large Denver turnout. tours included Pike's Peak and Garden of the Gods. A train mishap near flooded tracks caused a delay but no injuries.
Mrs Ferdinand Braun died Tuesday at 9 45 AM at her Clay Street home from heart failure following weeks with a broken hip. Born in Bavaria October 4 1840 she was 83 years 8 months 27 days. She and Ferdinand Braun married at 22 and lived in Carey then moved to Maumee area. eight grandchildren survive among nine children Jerome Jerome Braun Edward John William Mary at home. Funeral Friday at Our Lady of Consolation Church with burial at St Marys Cemetery.
Marion man reports being run into a ditch by three men in a Ford near Little Sandusky. Officers arrest Ford Smith William Dunn and John Nelson of Harpster, each charged with intoxication and disorderly conduct. fines set at 53.80.
The Children’s Day service drew a large crowd as the congregation took an offering for the Oesterlen Orphans Home in Springfield and pledged a $200 000 appeal for expansion. Carey church set a $1308 quota, about $3 per member, to be paid in three years. A boys conference led by L B Straw featured Rev J B Wezzendt speaking on Lutheran boys’ camps near Lakeside with Carey boys Kirtland Straw and Donald Kurtz among attendees.
The Earl Green post reports thirty applications filed and aims to finish the remaining forms next Monday evening. Veterans dependents and all those who have not yet applied are urged to attend Monday night July a, as this will be the final assistance event led by the post. Paul P Krupp, Commander.
The fundraising effort for a new swimming pool shows generous local response yet remains far from the $3000 target. The canvass continues and residents who have not yet been contacted are expected to be approached soon as the committee seeks additional funds to make the pool a reality.
