Health Board May Regulate Dairies and Slaughterhouses

Wyandot County Health Board warns it has the power to regulate dairies butcher shops slaughter houses hatcheries and poultry farms including yard and pen locations construction repair and sanitation of water closets privies cesspools sinks and plumbing. Consult the health commissioner in Upper Sandusky before construction. Dead animals must be burned or buried and garbage held in airtight containers to control odors.

Kiwanis hear Dr. Stengel on Western relic trips

Dr. F. A. Stengel of Marion spoke at the Kiwanis Club noon meeting at the Galt Hotel dining room. 27 members and 2 visitors attended. Earl Hale accompanied the speaker. Stengel is a relics collector and showed high quality slides from his west and northwest journeys. Next week the club plans a Ladies night with dinner at the high school cafeteria and a Strand theatre party.

Day of Prayer Observed by Memorial Evangelical Church

The Woman's Missionary society of Memorial Evangelical church will observe a Day of Prayer Sunday. The evening program includes song by the congregation, music by a Girls' Quartet, devotionals by Mrs. Henry Dayman, duets by Mrs. Porter Hendricks and Mrs. Harry Bowman, reading of "The Touch of Jesus" by Mrs. Myrtle Perkins, a duet by Miss Lucy Laughlin and Paul Powell, and an offering followed by the playlet "If They Only Knew."

Lutheran Church Notes Choir Rehearsal and Meetings Set

The choir meets Thursday at 7 30 for rehearsal. The next Vesper service is Sunday Feb 22. Brotherhood class committees prepare for the Men's annual supper next Thursday at the parish house. The church council meets Monday night at 7 30 instead of Tuesday.

Death of Ramona Walter at 5 in Marion

Ramona Monnetta Walter aged 5 years 6 days died Monday at her home on East North Street after a two week illness with scarlet fever and peritonitis. Private funeral services were held at 2:30 Tuesday at the home, conducted by Rev. O T Mfers. Burial was in Spring Grove cemetery. Attendees included Mr and Mrs Carl Nye and children Dallas Gertrude and Jack of Marion among other relatives and friends.

Carey Farmers Community Club Hosts Evening Meeting

Forty members attended the Carey Farmers Community Club meeting on Monday. Rev. Paul R. Clouser spoke on avoiding extremes in life. An orchestra with Leroy Wickiser Nelson Wickiser John Guttenberg and Ernest Smith provided music. Refreshments followed. Mrs. Hendricks of St. Clairsville will give the Ladies night address at the Methodist church on Tuesday evening Feb 12. she is a farmers institute speaker.

The Carey Rod and Gun Club will meet Thursday evening February 5 at the hall. Motion pictures for sportsmen from state conservation officers will be shown. A cat shoot and prize rifle event follow, with chances for both poor shots and experts. Public invited.

Non-Support Case Began in Common Pleas Court

The state filed a non support case against Russell Ward in common pleas court on Wednesday morning.
