The public schools present The Land of Dreams Come True operetta Friday Feb 13 at the high school auditorium. Betty and four friends enter a dreamland guided by Mother Goose figures and magical pixies then awaken to reality, repeating the dream’s claim that dreams may come true at some time and place.
Mrs A L Arnold was called to Bowling Green by the sudden death of her brother Leo Herman a well known contractor aged 52. Funeral services were at St Aloysius Church Bowling Green and interment followed in Edgerton. Survived by widow five sisters and two brothers with several half siblings.
The voice of Pope Pius XI will be heard worldwide as his holiness delivers a speech at the inauguration of the Vatican radio station on February 12, marking the ninth anniversary of his coronation. Senator Gugliemo Marconi presents the ceremony.
Rev. C. F. Schaffnit superintendent of the Luther Inner Mission Society of Toledo will speak at Christ Lutheran church Sunday morning. Miss Jennie Powell of Carey serves on the society staff engaged in missionary and educational work at the Toledo settlement house. He will share insights on inner mission work and current urban conditions.
Very Rev Alous. M. Fish of Louisville Kentucky former pastor at Our Lady of Consolation Church will direct the centenary pilgrimage to St Anthony's Tomb at Padua next summer. The American Express will handle the trip with sailings from New York on June 26. Several Carey residents plan to join.
Local filling stations led by F. R Stoll Sausser & Son Mervin Shafer and J. A. McDaniel announce a gasoline price reduction to 15c and 18c to match neighboring towns. The notice thanks patrons of Carey and vicinity.
Miss Nellie Rosamond Alspach of Amanda Township died Saturday afternoon after a three year illness from tuberculosis. She was born June 11 1909 in Cyght? Wood County and lived in Hancock County since 1910. Survived by parents Aaron A. and Winnie and two sisters Mrs A C Beachler and Marie Alspach. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the United Brethren Church Vanlue with burial in Lee Cemetery. She attended Vanlue High School class of 1927 and dreamed of higher education despite ill health.
The family expresses appreciation to all who helped during her illness and after her death. Gratitude goes to those offering sympathy, support, and tokens of love. Signed by Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Alspach, Miss Marie Ajispach, and Mrs. A. C. Beaschler.
A grange organizing meeting was held at the high school with 37 signing as members. Clyde Wentling was elected master, Mrs. F L Cha ney lecturer, and C H Baker secretary. other officers to be chosen later. Next meeting set for Feb 18 at the Co K of O hall on S Vance street.
Farmers bought 7,914,688 tons of commercial fertilizer and produced more manure. Walnut seed should be planted on beached slopes and fence rows in thin woodlands, not on sterile soils or heavy wet clays.
The Carey Rod and Gun Club will hold its regular meeting Thursday evening February 5 at the hall. State conservation officers furnish motion pictures for sportsmen and a prize rifle sheet will follow the meeting. Public is invited to attend.

Rev R J Turrell opened a Sunday sermon questioning farmers faith amid high prices and citing Babson to note farmers are “flat on his back.” He urged an up-look and announced the final talk in the series for this Sunday night titled The House Wife's Religion.
Mr and Mrs Maine Brininger attended the funeral of Harry Lower five year old son of Mr and Mrs C E Lower of Arcadia who was killed when struck by an auto driven by Clair Kersh of Gibsonburg The boy was the son of Mrs Brininger's cousin Services were held at the home of the boy's grandparents Mr and Mrs E Stouffer of Fostoria
A 1930 Ford sedan owned by Winfield Tong of Findlay was stolen Sunday evening from in front of the H E Wyatt residence on W Findlay Street. Mr and Mrs Tome saw it missing around 8 00 pm as they prepared to go uptown. No theft insurance was on the car.
Kiwanis Club members and their wives attended a social evening with Tuesday dinner at the high school cafeteria followed by an outing to the Strand theatre to view Polly Moran and Marie Dressler in Reducing.
Annual supper served by Lutheran men at the parish house from five to seven this evening. Proceeds support church programs and activities.

The scarlet fever quarantine was removed at the Allen Stoll residence in Crawford on Tuesday morning and Suella Mae has returned to school. Gerald Stoll remains confined at home with yellow jaundice.

Mrs Ebe Thornton of south Detroit street is slowly recovering from a badly infected ankle at her home. She fell from the porch during the icy period the Sunday after Christmas, injuring her ankle which never healed and led to a serious infection. The wound is yielding to treatment and friends are pleased she is improving.

A son weighing 9 pounds was born to Mr and Mrs Fred Bakies of Clay Street on Sunday. A daughter was born to Mr and Mrs John Spear six miles south of town on Friday night. A 7-pound son arrived Tuesday to Mr and Mrs Harold Whitman of West Findlay Street. Mrs Parl C Goff and Mrs Nora Brashares are caring for mother and child.
Announcement of the marriage on September 23, 1930, between Mrs Hazel McGntague and Charles Nye. The ceremony occurred in Covington. Mrs Nye is proprietor of Hazel's restaurant on East Findlay Street.

Cardington resident Mrs. C. M. Beitler died Monday at Grant Hospital Columbus after gall bladder surgery. Born Iva Maude Kemmerly February 12 1881 she lived 13 children survived by husband C. M. Beitler Cardington superintendent of schools. Funeral held in Cardington with burial at Spring Grove.
The P T A holds a meeting in the high school auditorium on Monday February 9 at 730 PM. The program features selections by the Ladies Chorus of M EB church a vocal solo Indian Love Lyrics by Mrs G McDaniel a violin solo by Mrs Maybelle Barnard and an address by Mrs Amelia Nelson of the Ohio State adult education department Columbus. The January attendance trophy was won by the third grade of the West school building and the group invites attendance to defend the prize.
The Carey Farmers' Cooperative stockholders met at Gottfried's hall on Thursday afternoon. One hundred twenty five members attended and received the annual dividend. OSU's B A Wallace delivered the report and spoke, joined by S A Wenner manager and directors Mark Karr and John Powell. Alonzo Ogg was also noted. John S Fox and Guy Greer were re elected directors.
