Carey Board Re Elects Myers President and Approves Budget
The Carey Board of Education re elected David E. Myers as President for 1969 and Joseph Sammet as Vice President. The annual meeting set regular nights for 7 30 PM. Pay for board members was approved at 20 dollars per regular meeting. The board also approved a Summer Head Start program, a revised Building Usage plan, attendance at an elementary principals meeting, and a Findlay College workshop. The 1969 General Fund appropriation was 638 050 12, with concerns over a revenue drop from local sources and the foundation program.

Sharon Wilgus a Carey native and Findlay College student offered a trumpet recital Sunday January 19 at 8 p m in the Egner Fine Arts Theater. The junior elementary education major with a music minor studied trumpet ten years under Ronald James and performed works by Haydn Hummel and Barat with piano accompaniment by Mrs Eugene White. Wilgus after Carey High School helped with Findlay College Bands for three years and holds a Music Educators National Conference student membership while active in Delta Zeta.
