The Findlay Branch attempted to use a recently rebuilt engine that was stiff and derailed after failing to take a curve. It tipped its toes and left the track, requiring a crane from Columbus to right the engine and move passengers to a caboose for the night.

Monday night the city council with mayor Chambers and councilmen Hart Gottfried Heck Hood Griffith approved a half year appropriation ordinance ending June 30 and a salary increase for Water and Light plant employees. Tragic suicide shocks Lowell community
H M Snyder principal actor in a sad tragedy last week. He shot himself at his home in Lowell after months of nervous strain and worry over a business change. He died Friday morning after being found unconscious Thursday evening. He was 52, born in the city, with two sons and a widow surviving, along with siblings and other relatives.

Gas under difficulties at Chambers farm test well
Cole Bros and Dorsey struggle on a gas test well five miles northwest of town on the C Chambers farm. The project aims to supply gas for power lighting and fuel for themselves and Mr Chambers, with drilling stalled after tools were lost at 400 feet and a second string also disappeared.
