City Council Confirms Health Officer Appointment

Married in Detroit Miss Edna Stroup Wed Dwight Hosterman
Miss Edna Stroup and Dwight Hosterman united in marriage last Thursday evening at 7 60 o clock in Detroit. The ceremony was performed by an Evangelical minister and the couple were unescorted. After a brief stay in Carey with the bride’s parents they planned to settle in Sycamore where Hosterman works as a miller. The bride is a trained musician and Carey High School graduate of 1911.

New Year Eggs Bring Odd Grocery Gifts to Van Heyde Farm
A rare chicken strain developed by A. Van Heyde laid only once since New Year but this morning produced a curious harvest. Miss May Van Heyde found in the eggs a package of raisins, butter, three slices of ham, and several beefsteaks. Mrs Ig Musselman was identified as the grocery donor, and Mr Van Heyde conveyed thanks and hopes for similar kindness.

Tragic double death on Pennsylvania bridge near town
Mr and Mrs Verne Jacobs of the Harry Stevens farm southwest of town died in a bridge accident while traveling to Ridge township. blood stained fragments and scattered body parts were found along the track. Jacobs watch stopped at 5 30 pm. search for Mrs Jacobs continued with volunteers from nearby cities under Elza Jacobs supervision.
